Thanks you Deb, very interesting time you had.  I am from North Carolina however, I was born in Los Angeles, CA.  Hope you have a great Christmas and a successful new year.

Are you from Jersey D?

Sorry it took so long to write.  My experience laid over in Jersey was hilarious!

We have to remember that we all have stereotypes of persons living in each part of our country, and sometimes they ring true..... So this is what happened there.

When I got off of the plane from Denver, I felt like I had been transported to a new world.  All of the girls had hair that I'm pretty sure they had to tip up-side-down in a cotten candy machine to acheive.  Piled high.  Dressed to the tees.  All of the guys working there were super pumped up from the gym, with super tight clothes.  So those two factors amused me to no end.

Again, a long layover.  So I tromped around the airport and finally found a beautiful wine bar.  Loaded with beautiful wine bar boys.  :)  (interlude where I hear all the girls here go-- Whoop whoop!).

Um..... until they opened their mouths.  I almost wanted to say, "hey, just sit there and look beautiful!  Don't talk."

Alas-- they kept opening their mouths.

The gist of it:  4 wine bar guys were arguing in heavily Jersey'd accents about how much they hated each other, and their boss, whom I'm pretty sure wasn't present (and just gripping in general).

But they didn't leave where I was sitting when they did it.  So picture a high-end bar with me sitting (no kidding) 2 feet in front of them.

And then picture the California therapist girl sitting there, listening to tons of emotions and a super dysfunctional conversation.  Talk about stereotypes!

I had to say something.  The angriest Jersey guy ended up crying while we explored his childhood, and where he wanted to go with his life.

And then I had to catch my next flight.

I hope that guy's okay.  Jersey was another world that I'm glad I got the slightest glimpse of.  Can't say that I'd want to live there, but I wouldn't trade the world for getting to visit there-- if only in the airport.

There you have it Duffis.  :)

Deb you rock!  I am proud of you and your quit.  A lesser person would have lit up a hundred smokes due to the stress of flying, airport security and time delays not to mention a gazillion other things along the way.  Get some rest and I would like to hear the "New Jersey" quip.

Love ya Deb..........keep the faith

I was so happy to come home to see you Jan and Moss.  I'm doing it!

I just flew back in from Maine last night.  I had to jump ship for a week!  What a trip.

I'm super tired.  My body is confused time-wise and trying to either catch up, or slow down.... I'm still not sure.

Starting Monday, I had a 5:30am flight that was cancelled, and had to drive up to San Jose to make an 8am flight.  Flew to Denver, then New Jersey (whole story there!).... anyone in the house from Jersey????  where my flight was delayed for 3 hours.  Then to Portland Maine.  By the time I got there I'd been up (hours-wise) for 24 hours.  Somewhere in there I was asked to be on a national board which requires me to be there once a year and I agreed because the lobster is really awesome.  :)

I had to be there at 7:30am-9:00pm everyday, catch a flight back yesterday that kept me up another 24 hours!!!!!!!!!!!!

I loved Maine.  I'd never seen it before.  I met the nicest people and got to see all of the fall colors.  Maine I found, is like Ca.  They have strict laws about smoking, and I felt comfortable there.  The airlines too.  It felt really good to not have to find a place to sneak off.  And I loved touching and smelling the Atlantic.  I didn't have much time to explore, but I did get to at least touch my sister ocean in the dark.

I know that may seem weird!  But that was on my bucket list.  :)

No smoking!!!!!!!!!!!  My senses at each airport across the country were so alert.  The smell of Denver was so different from the smell of Los Angeles, which both smelled different from Jersey and Chigaco..... the smell of Maine, and Monterey.  All different.

I'm happy to be home.  And I'm so happy to be back in contact!

Love you guys!  I'm doing great.

You guys are hilarious.  Please!  Yes yes speedo's and crocs!  I would also like to place an order for a tattoo of me and Eyja placed discretely above your belly button.  Thanks!

Eyja, we're gonna have to get the skinny from Sparky I think.  It sounds like there was one heck of a cruise before this one.

Thanks for coming on board with me everyone.  A special shout out to my cabana boys too.  You guys rock.

Okay - I am totally on board with you now Deb.  Am thinking this ship is gonna be standing room only soon!  By my understanding here, we get to lay back and get your wonderful Cabana boys to feed us grapes, give us foot rubs and tell us we're awesomely gorgeous now that we smell so wonderful (like vanilla candles or some such great thing that isn't CIGARETTE smelling) because of course we don't smoke and none of your grass skirted Cabana boys do either!  Oh Yeah!
I am little concerned about your volunteers though - what with Ron's "Crocs and Speedos and No pix" etc. . . . Looks like you've had a few of these events in the past that some of us were unaware of and you have got some feedback now! We may be getting the boys beer and turning on the game just to keep them volunteerin'; Sheesh indeed,  LOL : )
BTW; am starting my new (second) job tomorrow eve : ) Not so glamorous as your cruise, but am ready to tackle my pile of bills - sigh.  Gotta blog here now - for working on stuff  & keeping track of progress, etc
Thanks for the laugh :)

OK I'll volunteer but all you past cruisers got me all primed with the Crocs and Speedo routine two summers ago.  And Sparky made me do that mowing her lawn one time, sheesh.  Now you want grass skirts and grapes .....  No pictures please but yes you have well deserved this so I'm on board.  Any other cabana takers...Ron

Foot rubs are great!  Tell one of the cabana's to help cause you are sitting right next to me!  Thanks so much for writing again.  You  (again) are an amazing girl.

Enough about me.  How are you doing??????

Deb
