In reply to your question Ashley, I decided it was time to quit because smoking was controlling my life and I was unable to focus on what I really wanted. For example, I would go home from work with the plan to work-out or work on a project and all I would end up doing when I got home was sit outside on my patio and smoke. I had a hard time in social situations because all I was thinking about was when do I get to go out and have a smoke.
It's been three days and still going strong, I'm feeling better already!
You have the full support of myself and the rest of us. I've been smoke free for 3 weeks. I'm still going through the hurdles. best of luck to you and your quit!
We always recommend to new members to begin by working through the program. The program will help you prepare for your quit. Also, post and read often in the support group. The support group is a great distraction and a great source of inspiration and information. Post questions and thoughts as often as you like and there will always be someone to respond.
Hey there! Three days is awesome! Today is my first. I have been using lozenges. You sound like your ready to quit. Good luck, this is a great website to lean on.
Just wanted to make my first post, I've been visiting the site daily for a while and reading others posts to get myself ready and motivated to quite.
I've tried quiting many times before, but this time is different I am excited to be smoke free and live life to it's fullest!
I just remind myself that it's as easy as just not having another cigarette, my cravings arn't too bad when I get one I look at the positive side, these cravings will go away once the drug is completly out of my system.
I'd love to hear any advice and hear how great people that have quite are feeling.
