In her 50's !!!  Well someday you will get there and you will be looking good, hardly able to remember that you once smoked as a young woman.

His aunt is in her 50s and i noticed the smokers cough she has, i pretty much already had just not as bad. 3 days after i stopped smoking, the cough went away and i no longer experience the pain i did while trying to breath. While i was a smoke, also, i would get re-accuriung bronchitis... I haven't had it in about 6 months, and i'm hoping that since i quit smoking i won't get it as frequently.

Hi Kristen, While watching your boyfriends Aunt smoke take note of what is happening. She probably doesn't even know she is smoking most of those cigarettes. She probably doesn't enjoy all those cigarettes she is just trying to bring her blood nicotine level up without even realizing it.. We don't do that any more Kristen. Smoking is not enjoyable it is just feeding an addiction an addiction we we dont have to feed anymore. We are free as long as we never take another puff of nicotine.

I have been drinking tons more cold water since quitting smoking. It's quite refreshing!

Kristen:

That is a difficult situation, you should commend yourself for getting through...One thing that I found very helpful was drinking cold water.  I don't know what the physiology is, but I know that it helps.  Try not to become dehydrated.  You will find that it helps with physical as well as the emotional difficulties...

I was just thinking about how quickly i wanted the day to end!
But i got through it, as i said, i used the gum and deep breathing and just focused on the road and not to her blowing the smoke in my face (not purposely)... I already can't believe it'll be a month soon. I really feel so much better since I quit. I know my 2 children will be so proud of me!

Kristen,
What must have been going through your mind during the drive?!  if you can keep this up, we will be celebrating your 365th day smoke-free sooner than you know it!  Way to go!

I was basically a taxi for my boyfriends aunt who broke her foot the other day, So i'm having to drive her around town... I don't mind it, at all. But... She smokes, like a freight train. Every 5 minutes, she lights up. I went through the nicotine gum today like it was the last few pieces on earth! But i managed to make it through today with flying colors. Still smoke free, and still plan on staying that way!! 16 days and still going strong!!
