You're right about the "just one" the fact is this- there is no such thing as just one. You can choose to smoke but you have to take them all, all the ash tray,s all the 7 or 8000 cigarettes each and every year. You can smoke all right but it's a package deal. Don't let junkie thinking put you back in chains by believing the LIE of "just one".

This is my 4th day w/o and the craving is pretty intense for me right now. Can't believe the internal struggle going on in my head and body. Find myself thinking that having one won't be bad, but I know if I have that one; it will be the ballgame for me.

I am guessing this is the first time you have tried to give up.?  No need to be afraid... all you need to do is get through the next craving.  When you go to sleep at night, no need to think or how bad tomorrow will be... just  get through the next craving.  You can almost 'trick' your mind that if you get through the next craving, you might have one later... but of course you don't.  Get your confidence to "ROCKET HIGH" levels. Look in the mirror and say/think positive thoughts. I can do it, I can do it, I can do it, I can do it, I can do it.

Because, you CAN do it

Hi Cat,
I experienced fear of quitting at first too, I just didn't know what to expect.  I thought I'd turn into a major beast without cigarettes, too cranky to be around.  I wasn't sure if I'd like myself or if my husband would.  The more I thought about it, the more fear I felt.  One day I decided to just do it no matter what.  I focused on my main reason for quitting and now it's nine years later.  It feels so good to be free of smoking and the best decision I've ever made in my life.
Take care and remember one day at a time,
Jennifer  :)
