Myth or Fact?

Hi Eya ! Yes, I too have noticed that we quit around the same time. I Love the place I am at now but I am also well aware that I could lose it all if I am not vigilant. I feel very confident though, that I now understand the true nature of nicotine addiction. I can live the rest of my life free from cigarettes and all the great things come with that but I must always remember that I am an addict and that if I ever let one puff of nicotine back into my system I will be right back to where I started from - no matter how long I had quit for before that puff. and Eya.... I AIN'T GOING THERE ! Eya.... don't go there either OK ? We are done with that ! N.O.P.E.

You are sooooo lucky to live with those eagles.

Good for you Willis!  I am just beginning to feel free of this monkey on my back now too. It has taken some time! Looks like we quit fairly close to the same time (I'm just two days from 200 now!) I didn't notice you online here back in Feb and Mar when I was addicted to SSC; maybe you were shy and that's why you didn't join right away?  Anyway, it is nice to meet a fellow February quitter and I'm glad you're feeling free and healing now.
And yes; that is one of 'my' eagles (well I share her with the neighborhood and the beach!) and I took that shot last spring. Our eagles have a snug treetop nest in the tree just at the end of my road, and their eagle family frequents my own back yard fir trees.  We have enjoyed watching these eagles grow, raise their eaglets and soar over our beach for many years.  We don't have a web cam on them, but could if someone was inclined to set one up.  We love sharing our neighborhood with our feathered family!  That's why I use that pic as my avatar. Ain't NOPE great? It WORKS and I love it!   Eya

So true Ashley and thank you. May I add that even smoking "a little" causes immense harm to most of us here because we can no longer "smoke a little" whether we want to or not. Tobacco Sucks ! Not One Puff Ever is the key to survival, Not One Puff EVER !

Members,

Myth: I only smoke a little. That won't hurt me.

Fact:
The American Council of Science and Health states “even smoking a little can hurt you. Research has shown that even "occasional" (less-than-daily) smoking, smoking only a few cigarettes per day, or smoking "without inhaling" can increase your risk of heart disease and shorten your life”.
