I'm pursuing a potential lawsuit right now, and I'm very stressed out--have been on and off since about last July. Things didn't get out of hand until recently is why I didn't bail last year. However, I've never thought of smoking as any part of the solution. It's just not going to help the situation, and I know that in the end, I'd be in much worse shape. Although the problems I'm having have occurred in the gym, I've continued to work out, largely because I tend to be extremely focused and because I have many more friends there than enemies. My friends have had my back, although I suspect that many are a little confused about where their loyalties should be now. I'm confused about it, too, and am a little guarded. I just want to add that I haven't left because of those friendships and because I'm sort of trapped into staying where I am. The exercise itself helps. I do feel accomplished, and I cannot smoke and exercise.

Members,

Stress is a common contributor to slipping. How to avoid falling into the trap? Plan ahead! Imagine yourself in high-stress situations. What could you do instead of instinctively reaching for that old crutch?

Here are a few ideas to get your started:

* Take a walk
* Phone a friend
* Write in a diary

To those who have overcome high-stress situations smoke free, please share your story and tips!
