Yes, the difference between this quit and other is you really have the reasons to make this happen.  You have a husband who is ill, you lost a good friend, and you see so many come here like me who have made the quit.  I agree that it's not easy at all, and many times we need to come here and vent our frustrations.  But in the end I'm happy you have chosen NOPE, and are willing to stick it out with us and be a non smoker.  I know you can do it one day at a time.  Keep doing what you are doing and don't give up.
Blessings,
Ron

I agree with Ashely and Jan!  You're doing awesome Sparky! I can only imagine the stress that you're going through in your life these days.  You're doing so well to keep your quit through it all and I hope you and Dewey find something to smile about every single day!
I've noticed you checking in (online)  a few times lately and tried really hard to reply to this post  quite a few times, but the site was experiencing some glitches and the messages got lost in cyberspace.  I saw Brenda mention she tried to post a supportive message too - so I hope you did receive all the various 'support' well wishes intended your way, even if you had to pick it out of cyber-air!

That 7 months of yours is awesome!  I know the feeling of panic and second thoughts, etc.  But I also know the smell of stale smoke, and cough that accompanies the smoker who just smoked that cigarette!  I know you're going through some trying times and God bless you for hanging on to your quit.
Just one crave at a time, I often had to revert back to that way of thinking.  Now...its one meal at a time.  The concept is the same, and I'm fighting for every pound I lose.
As hard as it can seem at times...thing are always a wee bit easier just "one crave at a time".  No more.  No less.

Thinking of you and sending you positive prayers and hugs!

Congratulations for reaching 7 months!

It sounds like you may be going through a slump with your quit.  Remember that this sometimes happens and it will pass.  What makes quitting important to you?  How will you be rewarding yourself for reaching 7 months? Celebrate!  You are doing amazing so feel proud.

Well it has been a little over 7 months quit.  I am now off of everything and there is an underlying panic within me.  I really don't know why this quit continues day after day when all the others didn't.  Most of you know I have quit so I can there for Dewey when things start to go bad.  People say they are positive that this is the quit, wish I could feel that way.  For now I keep telling myself the reasons why it would be wrong to smoke and I try to find someone who has just smoked so I can remember the awful smell.  I don't post often, but I do come and read.  My life is pretty full dealing with life here on the home front.

Keep the Quit
Sparky
