You are going to do great, Charm! Let's also put a positive spin on this: what will you, a non-smoker, reward yourself with after your great victory? Along with planning what you won't do, plan what you will do as that will keep you focused.

The ongoing saga... (this is almost as bad as a soap opera )

Court date is Monday, I am home this weekend working on getting things ready, any Lawyers out there to give me some hints on what I am suppose to be 'getting ready' .

Thank you, ojmas, for your birthday wish, and in case I don't get back on here Monday...You have a great birthday...

I am wayyyy nervous of looking foolish in the court room...but it really should be just 'cut and dry', he's wrong, I'm right...

But, I really feel I won't smoke, for some reasons you guys gave me...

1. It will not change my stress level.
2. I would just be sitting there wanting a cig and not paying attention.
3. I would hate myself, extremely, when it was all over and I had to start my QUIT again.

So thanks you guys..

To be continued....

This no doubt a really challenging situation. And it can be your greatest victory. Imagine yourself, after the court date, and smoke free. Visualize yourself being victorious!

Smoking will not change the outcome and like Alice said you will just experience more stress thinking about how and when you will be able to get outside for a smoke.  I can understand that this will be a difficult thing to go through but you can do it.  Life can always be better but it can also be worse!  You can get through this and you can get through this without smoking!  You are strong and determined and we are all here to support you.  Just remember this too shall pass and you'll do great!  Much luck to you!

Charm,

You can totally do this!  And just think how great you will fee after the whole process is done and you are still smoke free!!!  As ojmas said, smoking will do nothing to relieve your stress.  If you smoked, you would be couped up in the court house unpatiently waiting to get the whole thing over with thinking about having a smoke.  Instead, you will be smoke free thinking about how you are going to kick some ash and get what you deserve!

One thing I have learned that I keep remembering...smoking does not relieve stress. How can it relieve stress and make you calm as well?

Just a thought. And December 13th is my birthday. My birthday wish is for you to get through this successfully and empowered!

We will be here to support you through this.

Your strength is inspiring.  Facing this without a lawyer and smoke free!  You go!  Fight thought this!  Don't let this situation take anything away from your goals.  You can and will do this.

How good do you think you will feel once you get through this smoke free?

You can do this because you really, really, really want it!

File your claim and kick some ash(es)

You are doing swell!

    Cigarettes Not Smoked

13 years ago 0 312 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
It actually started yesterday with step 1.

To make a very long story short, I have to take my ex-husband back to court. Because of finances, I am having to do it by myself without a lawyer.

I filed the papers yesterday at the courthouse and have a court date of Dec 13th. I really really really want to get thru this mess without smoking. I know smoking will not change the outcome, I KNOW THAT. But I may need you guys to reiterate that to me for the next couple of weeks, it will be nerve racking.

I will be in touch..
