Again, welcome to all of the new quitters!  I'm doing the train ride every 2 weeks now, so be sure to hop onboard every Thursday!  Here's to a smoke free weekend for everybody!

Hi Eya!  Every other week or so I will post a "This week's train ride is to" under Stats.  I pick a destination and select some features and highlights.  Last November/December our train rides were to London, Paris, Bruxelles, and Amsterdam.  Last week we were in Napa Valley.  Its just a way to take our minds off of smoking and think of wonderful places to visit, smoke free!

Again, welcome to all of the new quitters!

Hello:)
Curious to find out what U mean by 'virtual travel by train day' on Thursdays, Rock?  Can't seem to find further info on this; maybe I haven't researched well enough to map out where the virtual train station is located or how one is to join up to get their virtual train ticket to ride.  Or is it meant just as a reminder to log in on Thursdays to support this great group of non smokers?  Just wondering . . .

Thanks for the Welcome to new quitters and for your great advice Rock - not sure what the train ride is all about, but am going to check into it.  No more If, Ands or Butts :)

You've made one of the best decisions in your life!  Welcome to the SSC!  Now a few words of advice.  Stay close to this site.  Post as often as you need, if only to rant and rave.  Somebody is always nearby.  And if you have a major urge, post and wait for 5 responses.  The urge to smoke will be gone by the time you get 5 responses.  There is a wealth of knowledge here, so read old posts to see how others have quit.  Rewards are very important.  Small rewards for each passed crave, medium rewards for each smoke free day, and a larger reward for each smoke free week.  Treat yourself like royalty.  Pamper yourself.  Do whatever you need to do to protect your quit.  Set up your quit meter and join the stats parade every Monday morning.  Its great to see your numbers add up!  Thursday is virtual travel by train day, a way to take your mind off smoking and visualize a train ride to a fun destination with a great group of non-smokers!  Please join the train ride every week!  And lastly, just remember that quitting smoking is a journey.  Some folks reach the destination on the first try, some take a few detours, and a few hit speedbumps and potholes.  No matter how you get there, or how long it takes, keep taking it one day at a time!  We're all rooting for your non-smoking success!
