You are so right Gimm, my sense of taste is also "off the chart", probably the reason I have gained 5lbs since I quit. I will work on that later.

But fruit, mexican food and chocolate taste "amazing" now....I can't hardly believe it..

Coffee!  I thought i could smell it before i quit but i was wrong lol........I've been quit almost a year and the only two things i can tell that changed is my sense of smell and taste.  When i quit and made coffee, it smelled so different than it use to....

Charm I love this post!

I always had a great sense of smell, or so I thought, until I quit.  Finding it so great  that I did not smell of smoke was wonderful.  It was the bad smells that were the worst thing.

2 years ago, I had Chemotherapy........that also heightens your sense of smell......I now carry a Vicks mini inhaler with me, and when my nostrils are offended by unpleasant smells, I take a quick sniff of the menthol.  It works!

First let me say congratulation on being smoke free for 4 weeks!!!!

There are benefits of smelling again, but of course there is the down side LOL.  Being next to a smoker is awful!!! But what I love is the smell of fresh baked goodies, the smell of a baby, the smell of fresh coffee.  See there is more good smells, than bad.

I am so proud of you!!

I am not real sure this is always a good thing.

I went to the department/grocery store today, and did notice that I could smell everything so much better.

Went down the detergent isle..everything smelled so clean and fresh.

Went down the fruit isle..and could actually smell the apples just walkin by them.

However...walking up and down the isles,

I could smell everyone that smoked

I could smell eveyone that needed a shower

And I could smell everyone that fa*ted (you know, pooted, lol)

So not exactly reaping this reward today... lol
