Woke up this Sunday a.m. and it was a bit chilly outside,so much for the walk. So I put my purse and myself into my very clean car and couldn't go anywhere, driving is so much of a trigger for me, so much for the drive.

So I am Disco.ing the morning away. Have my Disco CD playing loudly and tearing up the "dance floor". Now, be nice, YES I do remember the moves...I'm not that old yet....lol.

Hope all of you are "tearing up" something today...in a nice energetic way..

It's good to hear from all of you and that you are out and about and doing fun things, I enjoyed visualizing your adventures, Ron I did have a little trouble with your fermented salsa..tho...lol.

I am keeping pretty much in my comfort zone (HOME) so far. Maybe I will get out a little tomorrow, take a drive or a walk further than my yard (I have a big yard). We'll see.

Sparky, we won another day. Let's do...try again tomorrow.

Sounds like you're doing great, 4th time is a charm. Sparky, I love chocolate chip cookies. Sounds comforting. Today is cold, extremely windy, and rainy here in Chicago. I got a little lucky at around noon. There was a lull in the weather, and I went to the pharmacy (to get a flu shot) and to the grocery store and forget about six items. (That's why lists are so handy.) The weather is supposed to be more of the same tomorrow, so bike riding is out. I'll have to take a 'Sweatshop' aerobics class at the gym at noon and lift weights afterward. Hopefully, I'll be able to ride my bike later in the week. The exercise keeps me busy--not to mention burns fat and builds muscle. I'm now down over 40 lbs. I've been surprised to find that my "core"--abs, back, and hips-- are getting much more stable and stronger. I can now sit on the floor, legs apart, and lift dumb bells up and down without getting a severe back ache. I now use 10 lb dumb bells, too. I have no yearning for a smoke. Actually, got away from someone who was smoking at the bus stop. I think I've romanticized smoking once or twice since I quit, but those thoughts quickly dissipate. I can't do all that I do and smoke.

Hey, Charm looks like you will make it though day 2   I have been busy today we went to garage sales and then we came home and I mowed our LARGE yard.  That took care of 2 1/2 hours + then I baked chocolate chip cookies and now it is 6:00 PM and soon to get ready for bed.  I am finding drinking lots and lots of ice water helps a great deal.  Also I have been though this stage of quitting I know what to expect.  It is staying that way is difficult for me   So let's chalk up another day as a winner and try again tomorrow.

Charm,

Welcome to day 2 of your healthier life!! I know the weekends can be tougher- more time on your hands, more social activities. Glad you are checking in to get support and stay motivated! Keep it up!

You might want to review Milestone 3 of the program so you know what to expect over the next while. Also, are you charting your progress? It is a great way to see your success come to life!

Good to see you doing pretty good on day 2.  Lots of distractions helps a lot.  Weekends tend to be a little slow around here, the longterm quitters tend to take off until Monday morning.  I just came back from the farmers market, made some fermented salsa (don't ask it's one of my new crazy hobbies) and now will be going to a festival this afternoon.  Weather is nice and know it's not going to last so got to get outside.  Enjoy your calm day and keep us posted if anything comes up. Hello Charm Just to let you know that I'm never very far away from these pages. I know that you've put a lot into this quit so you can expect to get a lot of recovery out of it. I saw the " Won a day " thread ! Recovering addicts are the best people. Newbies rule. Excellent for you. breather 670 Addict 0

Well, I'm doing pretty good, thanks for asking...

Day 2 on my journey isn't too bad, a little jitterey (sp??) a little dissy, but keeping busy and trying to stay calm. Watching some t.v, walking just around the yard, playing some games on Facebook and reading posts here.

What are you doing? Having any fun?
