Jim,
Thanks for the encouraging words.  I love your positive attitude also.  It does rub off on others and I find that it does make the journey much easier.  I got a deal for you and everyone else,  you keep up the positive posts and so will I.  It really does feel good being a non smoker and that is definnitely something to smile about.

Hey Rose!!!

You are exhibiting the exact Positive Mental Attitude that I have been preaching about since I have been on this site!  It makes the whole journey a  LOT  more tolerable when you can keep that big cheery smile on your face and not let the fact that you are quitting a nasty habit the will  KILL  you get in the way of seeing all the positives and good things in life!!!

Keep spreading the word here of how your journey is going... the good with the bad!  Your insight and PMA can't help but rub off on more than one of your new quit buddies!

Ashley,
Thank you,
I think the one thing that is keeping me motivated to stay quit is my desire to live.  I have numerous health problems caused by my long use of cigarettes and nicotine.  Nicotine restricts the blood vessels and in turn raises the blood pressure which is hard on all the organs in the body and the oxygen exchange levels.  I want to try to reverse some of damage I have done to my body and if not than not do anymore damage.  Mostly I want to enjoy the golden years of my life now.  I want to be able to walk and breathe without struggling for every breathe.  This is my main motivation.  The other thing that keeps me motivated is this site and all of the educators and members of the groups.  As you know I have been working for about a year and a half  here on various issues that I have.  Without this site, the programs, you and all the other educators here and all of the members in the support groups I do not think I would have been able to stay motivated or make as much progress as I have made.  I want to thank you and everyone else for all of their support, encouragement, and for never giving up on me. I will never forget your kindness.

Today I am starting to learn how to do everything without cigarettes.  I am starting my life over again. This will be              "The First Time" for many things.  It will be challenging, exciting, and a little scary.  Everything will be all new and fresh.
I wonder what this journey holds for me.
