Heck Week...to heck with you!

14 years ago 0 16 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
Hi : Great to hear you made two weeks. I am right behind you. I love seeing how many cigarettes these people haven't smoked because it reminds me of how toxic it is and that a few cigarettes a day add up to alot. We never thought about totals when we smoked beyond the day and we certainly never added up how many we did smoke as we went along. What an incentive. Keep going. Hope

Skates, congrats on surviving Heck Week!  And I do love the reward you chose!  Great way to pamper yourself!  Like I always say, you need to treat yourself like royalty when you quit!  And nothing better than a mani/pedi to relax and feel good about yourself!

You're now in the BLAH weeks.  Don't worry about the 5 lbs.  Try to take a walk or exercise every day as that could help make you smile!  Or at least you can take your frustrations out on a punching bag!  Keep your focus on not smoking.  One day at a time, one hour at a time if needed!

2 weeks officially done today.  I went for a manicue and pedicure as a reward.  It was so nice to not have to wonder if I would ruin my nails reaching for the first smoke after my nails were done.

I can't say the these 2 weeks have been easy at all.  I have been grumpy a lot, put on 5 pounds, struggled to make it through at least 5 tough cravings...what I can say though, with a smile on my face is...I haven't had a smoke in 2 weeks.  Not even a puff.  I feel pretty happy about that...so much so that the other crummy stuff is worth it in the long run.

I have to say, with the tough cravings, the only thing that has worked is, I made a promise to myself that when they happen ('cause they do at the worst times) is to wait 5 five minutes before doing anything.  After 5 I check the craving again and ask myself, do I REALLY need/want this smoke or can I do something else instead....it's helped me so far.

Off to go figure out what my next set of rewards are going to be.
