Hi Monia and welcome to SSC. Sounds like you're having a similar experience to me- I was also surprised it wasn't as difficult as I thought it was going to be and I too was on the patch programme.
It does help too to come here and share your experiece, let other new quitters know it doesn't have to be difficult for everyone. I hope your quit continues to be great, keep up the good work.

Hi Monia, Welcome to SSC.  Good job,  Post often, if you are having a rough patch or a crave, post and wait about 10 minutes. there is usually someone around to help you out.

There is Great advice and Super People Here.

I lost  good quit... from "stupidity" and getting to "sure" of my Quit.  The # 1 Rule is N O P E (not one Puff  EVER)   that is the rule I broke at 9 months.  So I am back starting all over again.  The first place I ran to begin my Quit is right here.

Use the "My Program & Tools & Resources"  be prepared, have a plan, and hold your quit tight.  Your mind ... wanting nicotine will try to tell you, just one, just one puff, especially if you are in a stressed spot, or when you usually light up. Be prepared with ice water, mints, or jumping up and doing an activity.

Make a list of all the benefits, Health, $$ smelling better, not trying to find a spot to hide and light up.. etc, all your motivitors.  Remember rewards.. a magazine, a new water bottle, a book, anything you can think of, they can be free.  and as you save money from not buying cigarettes, if you can.. put the money away and save up for something.

Hi Monia,

Congratulations on making the decision to quit smoking! You have come to the right place to receive knowledge, support and encouragement. Work through the online program to help you understand and deal with withdrawal and maintain your smoke-free status. You can also track your progress using the Cravings Diary tool. I see that you have your quit meter in place, this is a great way to stay motivated and focused. It sounds like you are making the right steps towards making this quit stick!
Keep working hard and post often!
