Sparky, you can do this!  Just imagine how much better your cookies and breads taste since there is no smoke odor around them!  Who wants stinky Marlboro flavored oatmeal raisin cookies?  LOL!  One day at a time, one hour at a time if needed!

Quitting smoking, while dealing with life's challenges can be extremely emotionally exhausting, well, because now we do FEEL, whereas before we might have just smoked those feelings away.

It is very hard some days - really hard when we can't just go and hide under the covers and wish it would all go away.  But we do wake up the next day, thankfully, and continue on, because we must.

Coming to the SSC and posting and asking for help is exactly what you should do.  Giving back, when you can, is important too.  You are at a very fragile and difficult time of the quit.  You've quit smoking, but the junkie is still dancing wanting it's fix, hoping, just hoping that you will give in, just one more time. With certainty, you must tell the junkie I WILL NOT BE SMOKING.  (Back off Boogaloo works good too.)

I so very much wish that we could change places, so that I could take on your fight for a few days and you can come and sit and rest for a few days and enjoy the relaxing view halfway up the quit mountain.

A renewed commitment and a shot of determination will serve you well on the road to freedom for today.  Definitely time for some Sparky time, and then you can jump back in with both feel.

Keep the quit.

J

Now you are talking.  You should know by now that we are here to encourage and offer support.  We do not judge so you cannot let us down.  I am glad to hear that you are feeling a little better.  Now as Jim says, put on that husker skirt and lets get this done!!

I'm just seeing this.  Haven't been here for a few days.  I agree with everyone.  Come here and shout at the top of your lungs.  You know how sneaky this addiction this...the excuses it likes to thrust upon us.  You are doing wonderfully well.  Don't get ahead of yourself.  One baby step at a time.  So come here and rant and rave if need be, and and know that someone will always be here to help you along.
Thinking of you and sending positive vibes and hugs.  In small steps we can do anything!!!!!

Sparky, don't ever be embarassed to come and ask for help. We all had struggles and we know how it feels, thats why we are still here. Get a straw or coffee straw to suck on, it may seem silly but it helps (and without the consequences). Make sure your voice is louder than the junkie's! Tell him you are in charge and no one else! Deep breathing!
You have to realize that you cannot ever have another drag of a cigarette, because if you do, you won't be smoking just one more, you will be smoking 1,000 more or 10,000 more and you don't want to do that again. You want to breathe, you want to smell great, you want to be here to bake cookies for those great little grandsons. You want to have your freedom from that awful drug that kills! You want to be free of it forever!
So don't worry about needing help, just yell and we will help as much as we can! One day at a time!
