I, too, like the 'handle', SQ!  This is a great place to quit.  I wish you success.  You can do it, as evidenced by all the great quitters here.  Now is the time.

Hi Serialquitter! I love the handle! Yes, there are alot of us here who quit many, many times. I used to joke that I tried 703 times, at least that is what it felt like! I smoked for 37 years! You can totally do this! Spend some time here reading all you can. There is a ton of knowledge in these threads and we all know knowledge is power! Do the program and get a quit kit together, candy, gum ,straws, whatever you need to help you. Cold water helps with craves, as does deep breathing exercises. Post often, yell help if you need too. What is so great about this place? There is a group of quitters from all over the world with one purpose, helping each other quit and stay quit! Who better to help you, than those who have done it!
So, Welcome to the SSC! Let's get you quit!

Welcome to the SSC SerialQuitter.  You say you've tried many times to quit but you've never tried with this group of great quitters on your team, so you're already leaps and bounds ahead of previous quits!  So as is oft said here, stick close, post often and if you're ever tempted, post and wait for that magic five replies before you do anything.  You'll see the craving pass like a speeding car...

Wishing you good health and a very successful quit!

Take it a day at a time, re-focus your thoughts elsewhere, and always have a distraction to hand. Its' tough but it is do-able. Ask here for support, or help as we are all keen to see you succeed.
Good luck.

Hi SerialQuitter,

It sounds like you really want this and that is so important.  Be sure to read over the program to help yourself prepare. Post and read often in the forums.  Many members attribute their success to the support they have received here.  Also, it is important to reward yourself and celebrate every success.  This will be a difficult fight but it will probably be one of the most important fights of your life.  Be strong.

What motivated you to quit today?  How will this quit be different from your past attempts?

Welcome Serial.  There's a group of wonderful people here at SSC that will help you along your way.  I too lived on this site at the beginning of my quit, and the people here were instrumental in keeping me quit.  Remember:  NOPE (not one puff ever).  Take it one day at a time, one hour at a time, whatever you need to do to stay quit.  Protect your quit like a baby - it's new, it's fragile and it's precious.  Take care, and I look forward to your success!

Welcome the the SSC.
Quitting smoking has been a 5 year battle for me, and finally I have made it 6 months.
What I finally learned and accepted is that I cannot ever have a puff, or I will be a smoker again.
Stay here read losts and most importantly post before you smoke and wait for 5 replies.
Believe in yourself!
