What did you do to prepare for this?

Not to give up. Man. Took me two times to get it but made it. I'm posting this transferred from old fashioned word. I know who made me sick, I know the power I up against and it's what's not wanting me here. Causing the trouble I'm having with being here.

Like the White Tiger who lost it's color because it dared look upon the face of unknown, and was given it's royalty for saken as it was. I will be that Beast. I will wear the sacred stone gold today, to dare the unknown to be with me.

I count again the numbered days I have and one of them is my birth. Oddly enough this is when the demon will make an exodus from me. That's counting the minion's tools with me that he gave back to me.

In layman's sense I have as many smokes left that, surprisingly, run out on my birthday. Coincidence?

I see more than that, so I prepare to suffer, but it's just a body thing. I can handle the body, I can't handle the demons and that. So I just ask for a simple word of faith.
That's all I need. My faith will prevail. With yours and mine, together in heart, at heart, the smoking demon will hopefully go, poof! It's the only one left you know, there's none other.

What did I do to prepare?

Nothing - apart from going to bed with a conviction and waking up the next morning as a non-smoker with 8 hours of smobriety under my belt!! It was tough, as usual, and after three days I found this place and as the saying goes - "The Rest Is History". That was 2,124 days ago.

If you want it badly enough, you will get it.

What did I do to prepare? I spent about a week here, reading everything I could, every thread old and new. I knew I wanted to have a very positive quit this time, so I set a date and planned ahead, stocked up on patches, gum, straws.
I pumped myself up with a lot of positive self talk. (ie. I am ready, this is the last time, I can do this etc...) I printed down every inspirational thread that inspired me. I joined together with quit buddies who quit the same month as I did and we helped each other quit, by boosting each other when we needed to and by celebrating every milesetone we could.
I did the program and practised the deep breathing. Sometimes I had to yell, sometimes I had to cry, but I knew one thing and I still know it today, I am an addict and I can never smoke again! NOPE!

My Mileage:

My Quit Date: 3/5/2007
Smoke-Free Days: 1105
Cigarettes Not Smoked: 27,625
Amount Saved: $11,657.75
Life Gained:
Days: 152 Hrs: 5 Mins: 32 Seconds: 16
