It's been a week

I am so glad I found this site!  I just completed all the exercises and found, being honest with myself, that I have been really angry because I was under the impression it would all be over in 72 hours.  I would have the nicotine out of my system and the cravings would stop.  Well, they didn't, instead they got stronger and I've been binging on mints and saltines for a whole week.  I also don't feel quite connected.  I spent so much time preparing to quit and cutting down gradually, that I thought it would all be over once I finally did it!  Well I haven't had a cigarette since October 30 and the cravings are still bad.  But I'm sure I'll stay with it--I just want to be normal again.

And tomorrow afternoon I'll be facing a stressful situation and I'm a bit scared of that.  So anyway, it is really nice to have this stop smoking support group to post to.  Thank you for being here!
