Help - I'm too scared to quit.

You sure got my attention with that one, Kiwi.  And the reason for that was...I could relate.  Absolutely and positively relate.  That was one of top reasons for holding off.
I found though, the more I educated myself on the subject of quitting, and more I decided the "One day...one crave at a time" theory, the easier it became.
And here I am today...with much help from all the good folks right here at SSC.

Cheers,
Jan

It's definately a scary process, this quitting.  Right now, I'm in the "pissed off" process - wanting the quit so badly that I can taste it and yet wanting a cigarette.  I don't know why...their nasty, the smell horrible and are expensive as hell.  so why do I still want one so badly!?!?

Kiwi-Great post!!  I was always scared I would never be able to quit and it would kill me and too scared to quit that I wouldn't know how to functionm without my little friend the cigarette.  This time around, I was not scared to quit.  But scared I would never and it drove me to drop the cigarettes, get back on this site, read a book recommended(A Carr) by friends and learn that I dont need to be afraid anymore.  I'm here, I'm smoke free, I love the way I feel.  And thankfully with the support of this site I can ask questions I am scared to ask others, I can read about the feelings and challenges I may face on here and be prepared for them.  Thank you for posting this topic it really made me think.
