Do I have a brain tumour?

Hi there, I think most of us here can say that we know what you are talking about. When we are under a lot of stress, all of our body parts are affected. The feeling you are describing is probably just your scalap muscles becoming tense and is almost definitely not a brain tumor. I get this feeling too. In Claire Weekes book, Hope and Help for Your Nerves, she explains it this way: "The soreness around or on top of your head is caused by contraction of your scalp muscles as a result of continuous tension. You may notice how relief comes if you press your scalp or place a hot-water bag where it is most sore. This should prove to you that the cause is local, where you can reach it, and is not deep-seated. These are not the symptoms of brain tumor. Since contraction of tense muscle causes pain, it naturally becomes worse when you worry and improves as you relax and release tension." Hope it helped, Jen

Hi sarabrooke, Fellow members should be responding to your post soon. Anxiety can cause a variety of problems and it can sometimes be very frightening wondering if it is related to something worse. As you say, it may be difficult to wait the weekend before seeing your doctor. But it will be reasurring for you come Monday to know that they will be able to assess you and hopefully give you some answers and explanations for your concerns. Take care. Be sure to let us know how everything goes. Casey _____________________________ The Panic Center Support Team

Does anyone ever get the feeling that their scalp is tightening. I seriously believe that there is something wrong with me... brain tumor! I can be doing my daily things feeling great and all of a sudden it feels like my brain is numbing or my scalp is tight. I feel tired and honestly, the more I think about it... the worse it gets. What a surprise. It stops me in my tracks none the less so I think it really may be something? When I raise my eyebrows everything feels tight??? I do have ear problems... could this be putting pressure somewhere in my head. Please help me with this. Can anyone relate? It's driving me mad. I have a doctor's appt. on Monday morning but I need to get through the weekend without driving myself crazy. I think I also have a bit of vertigo? It is hard to tell the difference sometimes... is there something really wrong?, or is it the anxiety and panic??
