Ditto what Jim just said.  Our language we use in our heads are very important to our success in whatever we want to accomplish.  "Trying" can set ourself  up to failure but when we say we are going to just do something the mind and body just follow orders.  Keep up the great quit and get ready because the blue ribbon is coming next to ya.  They do add up one at a time.

PS-Jim happy 1 1/2 years to you too.
Ron

Hey Detox!!!

Congratulations on making it through those first two weeks!  It's time for a big reward!!!  I know keeping that Positive Mental Attitude is not easy, but it really is a big part of the success we are all looking for!

" I know this is all virtual... but it sure feels good having that new banner on my profile...  I'm gong to try to collect the whole set :)"     In actual PMA language that would read "... I  AM determined and I  WILL  collect the whole set!"

Wake up every morning and rejoice that you made it another day without smoking and recommit every morning to remaining smoke free one more day!!!   That's the way to get 'er done!

And remember...  avoid those trigger situations whenever possible, take deep breaths and keep telling that nico-demon NOPE!!!

Way to go, buddy!!!  You're getting closer to freedom every minute and every day!!!

                  Jim

Detox,

I am in a similar position to you in that this is my ninth day off the cigs. I wish you all the best. My daily cravings are still with me but I know in my head that staying off cigs is one of the greatest achievement of my life so far and so I intend not to let the cravings get me down or feel depressed. It is a time to celebrate. Each day without a cigarrette is a cause for celebration. As Rock said to me - treat yourself like royalty. You deserve it.

Hey there Detox....As someone told me once before (actually a few time before)....as long you try again to stop smoking, that is the most important thing.  You are not giving up.  I can understand what you mean about relapsing.  I have had some great support from this group and still relapsed.  Today is actually my first day of not smoking (again), but I've learned you can't beat yourself up about it.  Just make sure you keep focused.  When there is a craving.....just post and wait for 5 responses.  It does work and the folks here are awesome.

There are two things I keep remembering today and wanted to share with you to get you through.....FROG and NOPE!
FROG = Forever Rely On God!
NOPE = Not One Puff Ever!

Take care.....
Sunshine
