Hey Gang!!!

The 2008 March Mellows are about to or have already reached the 500 day milestone!!! I wanted to personally congratulate each of you that have made it through the journey so far smoke free!!! This is an amazing accomplishment and I hope that each of you can check in and let us know how you are doing! For those of you who started this journey with us and have had a detour or two, please let us know how you are doing, too! We are all family, but I know that we all have a special interest in those that begin this journey around the same time!

As for me, I am doing just ducky.... quack!!! I still get a crave every now and then, but there is NO way that I would ever consider smoking again! There are too many of you out there who would hunt me down to kick MY ash!!!

I had set some goals for myself when I quit smoking... I wanted to get into better shape and shed the pounds that I knew were going to attach themselves to my body! Then the ol' ankle started bothering me more and more and I eventually knew that surgery was in my future. Well, November's surgery finally healed up enough to begin physical therapy just last month! The therapy is helping a lot, but 6 months of inactivity took it's toll! It will be a while before I can fit my foot in my regular shoe, as it is perpetually swollen! Heck, I can't even wear a regular shoe because it rubs on a still very sensitive and tender scar. The good news is that my foot and ankle are getting stronger, but it will take longer than expected to completely heal and reach the goals I have set for myself! In the mean time I'll try to keep a smile on my face and maintain that good ol' PMA!!! By the way, the pounds have started coming off... just not very fast! I'm going to become more active in the Healthy Weight Center, too, as I know I'll need all the help I can get!!!

That's my story and I'm sticking to it! Now, let's hear from the rest of you March Mellows!!!
