CVDEB,,,,,,,,I know exactly how you feel. Its hard to admit that you failed, but you know, that is the best thing you could do for yourself now......get back on the wagon..........I too slipped and failed., and now my quit days are all the more precious to me because of that slip.....it taught me two things,,,,one, I could quit smoking. two, That it was my choice....to smoke or not smoke, that I could start over and try again. You can too. The people here are so encouraging, every time I read an encouragement for someone else, I take it in as encouragement to me personally too, and it helps me even more. Also coming here to write out my feelings, good and bad, makes me feel involved in a community of people who have gone through or are going through the process of getting clean from a drug addiction....nicotine, it alleviates some of the isolation I feel when I am the only person who is quitting, around me, people who are close to me still smoke. The number one thing you can tell yourself....YOU ARE STONGER THAN ANY CIGARETTE......ANYDAY. Jules.
ps. It won't be easy....I am not saying that at all, but oh my god its so worth it.

(((((Hi Deb!)))))))
We missed you. I offer my hand too. You already know. This is the quit that matters. And this is the one. Just stay in the present and you will succeed!
Try ice water with some cucumber and lemon peel. It is delicious. I switched my addiction to cranbeery juice to this new one.
Hang on.
Everyone here is rooting for your success!!

Deb...sorry to hear your down and out...I had a test run a week ago and when I caved it made me feel terriable to, even though it was just a test run...So I could imagine how you are feeling..But your right beating yourself up isn't going to help and I also am not looking forward to those first couple of days again eighter...I am glad you are quiting again and as I have learned everyone on this site is here to back you up,give you support,or just listen no matter if your quit for five years, just starting, or have tripped and fallen along the journey...Take it one second at a time if you have too and that herb garden will smell so good in a couple of days,so that is something to look forward to...Stay strong and keep saying NOPE and remeber we are all here for you no matter what the circumstance might be... And think you already know you can do this, so keep telling yourself exactly that...

The first waves of craving are starting to hit, so I grabbed the sparkling water, a piece of gum, and am just checking in.  Thank you Breather for reminding that the main thing I need to deal with right now is just getting through today.... and thanks for being so supportive.  We feel pretty bad about ourselves when we fall.

X-- I'm so glad I posted when I did and remember, it sucks.  It really was no fun, solved nothing, made me feel horrible about myself.  It was all bad.  I'm out quite a bit of money from those stupid things.  And now I have to deal with the whole withdrawal process all over again.  I need to go read your pickle post and find out what happened.

Thanks Sara.  It's difficult not to berate yourself....  but I know that doesn't help either.  Thanks for your support.

:)  And hi Rock.  Thank you for your hand.  I think I will be holding it all night tonight and I'll try hard not to squish it.  Withdrawals are horrible.

I did start the new garden.  I put in a huge herb garden near the kitchen.... it smells wonderful and will smell even better when I can really smell again.  I will not quit quitting and am glad people have not given up on me.  You are wonderful.  Thanks my buddy.

Will check in later if I need to.  Thanks to you guys for posting.  Especially in the beginning, it keeps us newbies hanging in there.
Deb

Deb, grab my hand, I'll help you back up!  So you are in the new house, you have a new garden, and all new habits.  Not smoking will be a wonderful habit for you!  Sounds like you have your "quit kit" in place, all the goodies needed to help with the cravings!  Always remember that Ben Franklin's first kite didn't fly and Alexander Graham Bell's first telephone didn't ring.  Don't quit quitting and you'll be on the path to freedom!

I am so sorry to hear this as today has not been a good day for me either. Now, I find myself coming back here for help and guidence before I relapse and start smoking. (((fighting the thoughts))))

Although, after posting my new topic "Someone Hit Me" I find myself wandering around reading and looking over how everyone has been so far. I understand what you are going through on a level of I cannot stop thinking that they will make everything alright again.

Like mommy hold me and make it all better---stupid cigarettes'---> I know they won't but this is how I feel....

I am glad I came here and seen exactly how I would of felt if I would have given in to the temptation and picked up a cigarette again. .....

It saddens me to know you had to endure this }{ell of a nightmare to help all of us; therefore, thanks for posting this comment about your relapse and we are right here with you all the way...

Best of Luck!!!

Sorry for the choppy and sloppy message but still ((Hot)) about the pickle incident a couple of minutes ago...
