Hi Stormy, I remember you. I was probably bgaineshunter back then and my quit date was July 11, 2007. We joked about feeding the kids Ramen, as well as other things, if that what it took to have money to buy smokes. (Maybe you don't remember.) Well, I didn't make it, but I'm very happy to see that you did. I'm very proud of the fact that you were able to hang on.

Today, I celebrate 3 smokefree years, so it is only fitting that I come back here to the place where it all started. This site was where I lived, taking in all that I could, when my attempt started to spiral downward. What a wreck I became and even secretly decided at one point that nope, this quitting smoking just wasn't for me and resigned myself to the fact that I was going to be one of those people who simply "couldn't/wouldn't" quit. I decided that it was just a matter of time before I would go back to smoking. I hung in there, though sometimes by the very tips of my fingers. I definitely battled this through with all that I had, and I came out  the winner. I am so glad I didn't cave. Now, any thoughts that I may have about smoking are just that...a fleeting thought, nothing else and certainly with NO desire to smoke.

I see alot of new members here and it's wonderful to see so many who are ready and willing to take back their lives. That's so awesome and I applaude each and every one of you!  Hold on to your quit with all that you have, and before you know it, not smoking will become second nature. This comes from one who doubted the whole quit smoking scenerio with the attitude that thought, "People don't really mean it when they say such things as,"It's great to be a non-smoker.. It's just someone trying to convince themselves that they no longer crave a smoke". I have never been more wrong. I can honestly say from the heart that I am just as sincere as those I used to doubt. Quitting smoking is work, but it's such a doable thing and one you will never regret. You'll be happy you did. Really!! I would not be saying this if it was not true.

It's great to see the long term quitters that are still here too! You all rock! Take care.
