Sparky, I am so sorry about your husband but glad he is in good hands. I haven't been on here today and just read your post. Just to reassure you, I know of several people who have had a stint and have done remarkably well. It is a real scare, I am sure. I am glad you haven't resorted to smoking with all the stress you have been under today. Good for you Sparky, you can keep the quit!! I hope your husband comes home tomorrow and that his recovery will be a speedy one. Take care, we are here for you.

Sparky, you know I understand - this just happened to John, he has 2 stents.  Your hubby will be okay!  He will get a lot of meds, probably cardio rehab, will have to exercise a lot, which I think you already do, and have to modify your diet - read labels.  We bought the latest American Heart Assoc cookbook, a book called Eat to Live and the video by the guy that wrote that book.  It is a life style change.

I am so very sorry this happened to you guys, but so glad he is okay - that is wonderful good news right?  Focus on that okay?  Thank God he got help.

We are here if you need us, advice, anything, let me know okay?

love
Sue

Hi Sparky,
I know what you mean about crummy days.  You get out of bed and everything seems to not go exactly as planned.  I've realized that some days are just going to not be all that fun and today may have turned out to be one of them. But I also know that not all of them come out to be bad apples, so with a little time better days will be ahead.   I am hoping for a safe recovery of your husband and I'm glad that smoking has not been a trigger for you.  You've come so far and we are all proud of you. Ron

You know, Sparky, I'm always in awe of people--their courage and resourcefulness, intelligence but tolerance for schemes, creativity and ruthlessness. We're a study in contradictions. (Some people say we're hypocrites.) I say we're just people who are trying to do the best we can with what we have in an uncertain world. I have an older friend who has stomach cancer. As she has put it, she's in denial about it and doesn't hear the doctors when they speak. I decided that the cancer is probably advanced and asked her to at least look into palliative care. During a recent ten year period, my relatives were just dropping dead from all causes. I've come to realize that a lot of people are meant to be in our lives for just a little while. They're our angels, and if we just concentrate on losses (any type) we'll miss out on much of the good stuff that life has to offer and the good times we could have had with people. Or not remember the good times we had with people.  Hang in there.

Sparky hang in there- know that your husband is in good hands. A mild heart attack is like a warning to get healthy while you can. My father had a massive attack last year and he is now healthier then I have seen him in years. I know that it is tough but make sure you take care of yourself also, keep up your quit.

Hi Sparky!
Than God your hubby got immediate healthcare attention! I'm happy to read that he will be OK. I'm also happy to read that he got the best care he can get. Thank God we can have a good medical attention; so many pople can't afford it.
My prayers are with you and your DH. He will be fine. I know.
Big Bear Hugs
