Thank you Lillyput!!!
And Goofy: if you were here, I'd invite you out to a glass of wine in a great European café: and we would rant, laugh and cry about the way love can go wrong. I hope you are doing better now!!! You always sound so strong!

Sorry I missed this.  I think that we really are never alone.  As long as you draw breath you always have you.  Thats pretty daw gone special I think.  Oh it is certainly nice to have someone with you, there is no doubt about it.  We are not solitary creatures by nature. And I am sure that you will find someone along the way.  You seem to be a very intelligent person with a myriad of interests, ya can't miss kid.  Eventually you will find that connection, but in the meantime, work on making yourself stronger.  The stronger you are in yourself, the more likely it is that you will recognize that person when they come by your door...

stay well

Cat, the one thing to remember is that picking up a cigarette isn't going to make Romeo walk through the door.  And there is a pretty good chance that Romeo might even walk out the door if he saw you smoking.  Just remember that when you least expect it, that is when the good things in life occur.  And tell that nicodemon to keep out of your life anyway!  He's just trying to draw you back.  But he isn't going to win, not this time!  Keep saying N.O.P.E. and you'll go far!!!

Thank you so much everybody.
And thank you, Goofy...I always feel as if I am sucking so much energy out of everybody else, constantly complaining and wondering. I am touched to hear that I helped you in your early quit. It means a lot to me. And thank you for the "good things happen to good people". I need to believe that right now. Even if I am sometimes all but sure I am "good"- I am human, like everybody else...
I would so much like to be the one who gives energy... Oh well, it will come someday.

Hey Cat,
I'm glad I checked in. Self pity? I have been separated from my wife for 8 months.. Recently lost my job..Smoke??? No way!! Smoking is harder to stop then any thing that could possibly happen in our lives. It is not the answer to any issue that may arise. Guess what? You will get to live long enough to experience the love you're looking for. Our emotions do run higher as we quit our life long friend of our addiction, but Cat, it's not going to help anything by starting over.\

I don't know if I make any sense, but I feel a special place for you as you helped me so much in my early quit. Please hang in there..good things do happen to good people.
