Tabby, you have made a great decision to give up smoking!  3 days down and a lifetime of freedom lies ahead.  You keep it up!!!!!

As for the weekend....keep busy.  Plan your time.  Take the next couple of weeks and 'check out' of reality to focus on YOU.  You are retraining your body and your brain.  Read here.  Post here.  Read and post anywhere.  Walk.  Sleep.  Cry.  Be.  Know that whatever you choose to do you are doing it FREELY and on your terms!

Congratulations!

You can do this!!!!!!!

Tabby, one day at a time and keep that fight going.  You are doing fantastic!  Keep your guard up, keep saying NOPE, and you will beat this thing.  Treat yourself to a smoke free reward everyday right now, as everyday smokefree is a milestone!

Congrats on your 3 days smoke-free!  I'm right there with you.  On my last quit (and this one too), reading really takes my mind off of smoking.  Getting into a good book takes me out of my life so I don't think about it!
Good luck!!

Tabbyh,

Day 3 already! Look at you go!

As you begin to prepare for the weekend, it is great that you are able to identify this as a triggering time for you. Knowing this, will also help you feel better prepared for what you may experience. Begin to think of things you can do to keep you busy and when you will be able to log on and let us know how you are doing. Staying focused on your quit and distracting yourself when needed will also be helpful!

Members, what advice can you offer Tabbyh on how to stay busy on the weekend? What activities did you do during the first weekend of your quit? Let's hear your ideas!

Starting day 3 and very proud of myself.  Thank you all so much for just being there.
I have been spending a lot of my free time reading posts from these forums and it is very uplifting.
I am not finding that the cravings are that bad right now and when I do get the hurge to smoke, I come back and check the forum... I'm a bit more worried about the weekend... more free time on my hands and away from a computer... but I can do it..   Thanks again for all the kinds words of support.

AWESOME you made it half way through the 1st day!  I know for me every time I am craving I get up and do something, consequently my house is super clean and so is the yard!  See good things from this.
I was dreading a lifetime of craving, but have since discovered it does subside and look it has only been less than 3 weeks for me.

Smoke-Free Days: 18
Cigarettes Not Smoked: 540
