Congrats on your decision to quit Dee-Dee.  Awesome!  Go through the my program regularly and setup your quit meter to track stats and reward yourself.  Drink lots of icewater, and prepare for a few weeks of insanity.  This temporary insanity will yield permanent results.. so keep that attitude positive!   Keep strong and beat that nicodemon into the ground!

DeeDee, what's the best day of the week to quit smoking?  Any of the seven that end in the word day!  And tomorrow is your day!  You've been given some great advice!  Preparation is key, so go through "my program" so you can be 110% prepared for all the stresses and triggers that may come your way.  Add your quit meter to your postings from "my profile" so you can track your success.  Read, read, and read some more.  Use the search feature to look up topics important to you.  Post as often as you need, if only to vent!  Drink lots of iced water, it helps with the cravings and it flushes the toxins out of your system!  You have some good motivators to help you make the decision to quit.  I'm glad you are making this decision on your own, not because a medical professional has given you news that forces you to quit.  We're all here for you, rooting for your success!  Let us know how tomorrow goes!

Hi Dee Dee
Let me wish you much luck and success for tomorrow................ you did it once before so you know the drill, keep lots of ice water nearby and just take it hour by hour or minute by minute. I'm also starting over, let's get through this and NEVER have to go through Hell Week again! You squeeze my hand and I'll squeeze yours when those nasty craves come we have to say N.O.P.E ( not one puff ever )

Congratulations on making this very important decision Dee-Dee!  You have a lot of motivation.  Keep all of what you said in mind when you are craving.

Have you started working through the program? You will find it to be a big help. Preparation is key to a successful quit.  You will do this Dee-Dee.  Stay strong and get mad.  Mad at cigarettes for racking havoc on your families health. Do not let it win!

N.O.P.E - Not One Puff Ever!   Welcome to the SSC family, post often.

Hi everyone,
my quit day is 30 may 2009, I have been here before a few years ago but ruined my 10 day quit in a moment of weakness. This will be my first serious quit since then. I am very motivated and raring to go, scared yet exited. This is a chance for me to have a healthy life and I  am going to give it all I have.
My mom died of lung cancer 10 years ago, you would think that would give you incentive to stop, but it is never as easy as that is it. My Father in Law visits my house frequently, he only lives up the road. He is suffering from a heart condition and lung disease and has to be on oxygen 8 hours a day. The other day when he came round it took him a while to get in the house, stopping frequently to get his breath back. He eventually sat down wheezing and coughing and started to roll himself a cigarette. I just looked at him and thought I am not going to end up like that, I have got to do something now.
So here I am ready to fight the big fight. Wish me luck
