Slips can happen for different reasons. Often members report slips from stress or stress-related events. Wehn slips occur, it is important for us to review our reasons for quitting smoking in the first place. Why did you want to quit? What did you want to change? Once you have reflected on your reasons for quitting, you will feel more prepared to start your quit again. You will have new knowledge about your triggers and quit strategies that have worked well for you.

Keep up the good work pookie! And we are here for you every step of the way!

Pookie, first, please don't beat yourself up. A slip can happen to the best of us. Just remember that smoking isn't going to fix anything, and in almost every case, you end up feeling worse than before you smoked. So here is what I recommend. Jump back up on the horse, but don't do it until you are ready. If you need to take a couple days to regroup, then do it! Go back through "my program" to re-evaluate your situation. Do a search here on "depression" to see how other members have gotten through tough times. I have read some awesome posts from the mods about depression. Are you using NRTs or going cold turkey? Sorry, I forget. Maybe try a NRT if you aren't using one just for that extra support? Just know that we are all here with open arms. When you are ready, grab onto our hands, and we'll start again! I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

I slipt!!! As this months goes on, I found myself getting further and further into depression over my son's death. I smoked today. I just could not help it. I bought a pack and smoked 1/2 of it in 8 hours. I am so ashamed. Why did I have to fall off the wagon? How do I get back on??
