Back again...after more than a year :-(

Hi C, we were probably ships in the night -- I blew off a 9-month quit, but we probably know many of the same people.
I'm back now, massively struggling... wondering if it's just because it's my totally blown-off birthday and I have this weird desire to reward myself by poisoning myself?

I totally get that there's a reason people die from cancer; sometimes it's easier than fighting.
But me, I'm still in the fight, sort of.  My energy is way down.

Some people go the distance, C... I don't know what that looks like or how long it takes, but one day at a time isn't cutting it for me any more...

Cat - welcome back.  And never be ashamed or embarrassed to come back here.  It's very therapeutic!  I did the same.  Was active here during a quit, dropped off for a while, thought I could just have one....  Lots of people have had that happen.  It's hard and scary to post for the first time here again.  Be proud of yourself for never quiting the quit!

MM - Don't worry sister - I've got your back.  You'll never have to overeat alone again!

Hello everybody,
thank you so much for your supportive messages. They helped me so much that: I decided: why wait untill Wednesday, wy not start a day before, today!
So today was (is) my first smoke free day. Felt lightheaded and slightly ill, chewed 2 nicotine gums at the worst moments (don't think they really helped, but pyychologically valuable :-).
Overeat at dinner this evening, though... too afraid of dinner being over...
Oh well, off tomorrow for 5 days where I will be forced to eat when the clients eat- and not continue stuffing myself ;-)

See you soon and keep strong!!

Cat

Cat, welcome back to the SSC!  We're all here with open arms!  Take your experiences from your last quit to prepare for this quit.  You know what works, you know what doesn't work.  I like the change of scenery to start your quit!  Totally different surroundings hopefully won't provide any triggers.  Be sure to pamper yourself with rewards during this work mission.  Hopefully you'll be able to drink lots of iced water and take some peaceful walks in a new environment!  I'm just so glad you're here!  We're all rooting for your success!

Hey Catiorioc!!!

Yes indeed!!!   Welcome back!!!  Use what little time you have left with a computer to go through the program and maybe download and print out the workbook!!!  It could help in your preparation!!  Use the next couple of days to really psych yourself up and get ready for the battle against our public enemy #1...  the nico-demon!!!

We'll all be here rooting for you in your absence and will be anxious to hear about your progress soon!!!
