lol!
Yes, but CT, which particular vegi or fruit must be eaten to distribute the gas to the proper, upright position?  Must go.  This calls for experimentation.

Gonna do it:

I also felt bloated! Actually I gained six pounds on the first week. And it was all around my tummy . I was not eating like crazy, and I gained that weight! I got really scared! I blamed it on the chantix. But then at the beginning of the third week I suddenly lost all the water, and regained my prequit weight! I was bloated!!

So hang on, and not be depressed! It is water retention! We are giving our body a shock therapy! It's healing itself!

gonna do it,

As you mentioned in your post, this bloating could be because of your increased water intake. In your previous quit you may have been drinking more pop and because of the high amount of sugar in these drinks, you may have not noticed this symptom. We need to remember that everyone's body is different and your symptoms may not mimic those of others.
In addition to fibre, eat lots of roughage, like raw fruits, vegetables, bran and cereal. Drink 6 to 8 glasses of water a day and try to exercise regularly.

If you have a symptom that persists or seems worse than you expected, you should immediately consult a doctor. Its possible that your smoking has been masking symptoms of some illness, and when you stop smoking the symptoms abruptly become noticeable.
Let us know how it goes!

When I started this quit, I remembered from the last time that things slow down. I started putting more veggies and fruits in my diet to make it not so bad this time. Maybe because my water intake has tripled and I scaled back on pop, it's not my stomach really it's more of my chest area and only my chest. It's like when I was pregnant with my 3 children. I am in no way expecting. So it's odd???? lol

gonna do it,

Bloating can be a common symptom when you quit smoking. Some have suggested that smoking has a laxative effect to it. Upon quitting, your body may have an opposite reaction and may be retaining more water than it did while you were smoking.

Perhaps try increasing your daily fibre intake? This make help with the feeling of being bloated. In addition, if this symptom persists we strongly encourage you to speak to your family doctor.

Members, has anyone else had experience with bloating? What was it like for you? How long did it last?

Keep it up gonna do it, you CAN do this!

OK, not strange at all- can't say I just felt bigger, my tummy was definitely visibly bigger, in fact quite bloated! But so was my husbands, we found it very peculiar indeed and that was very early into the quit so couldn't be blamed at that time on weight gain. I am not sure what caused this at all, but it was a most odd side effect.
