Hi runtrat!

I always go to forums and then I go to today's active discussion and go trough all of them! If I began a new thread I go and check it out; then I would go to Discussions and read the titles of the threads and read and answer the more appealing to me at that particular time!

I hope you feel more comfortable right now!

Marivi

Gaugesmom,
NO MORE BEATING YOURSELF UP..We did plenty of that when we were smoking..So you let butts kick you in the but.. Before I came into the Forum I went through the milestones, maybe you need to refresh and go through them.. I was in a different Forum(Smoke Cessation) when I first quit and they didn't have all the hands on stuff(like here)I learned a lot, just being here two days..Pat yourself on the back, you came right back..This is a learning experience,ok??I'm gonna start a Weekday Nope Pledge and I wanta see you on it, you will see it... Hang In there..

runtrat,

This site always has different traffic at different times however I can assure you that it is not empty here!

Some members post early in the morning as part of their routine or some post later on in the evening once things have calmed down for them. You are welcome to reply to previous older posts from members here. By replying to these posts you can make them active again. Often it is these older posts that are most helpful for members because theses members were at a similar point in their quit to yours and can offer you insight and advice on to what to expect etc.

Let us know if you are experiencing any other difficulties as you navigate the site!

Hi Runtrat!
I think I did welcome you in other post, but I'm really glad you are here. This site is not crowded, and that is the beauty of it!
You have great counselors and "elder" quitters full of wisdom and advice! This site has made all the difference in my quit! If I
can do it, you can do it!
Stay focus. Be positive. We are here for you!

gaugesmom,

Sorry to hear you had a rough day. However, don't be too hard on yourself. You can do this!

Before picking up that next cigarette, we would encourage you to review your reasons for quitting. We would also encourage you to look back at your slip. What contributed to it? What is the underlying issue? Do you need better coping mechanisms? Do you not know how to deal with your emotions or stress?

Take the time to look back and learn from this slip. You can overcome whatever obstacle that led you back to smoking. You can stay on the right path and if you need help, just ask!

We are always standing at the ready, all you have to do is reach out and post.

runtrat,

Welcome to the site and congratulations on making the decision to becoming a non-smoker!

Take your time as you begin to navigate the site, you will find a number of useful resources here. Under 'My Profile' you will find your glove compartment with valuable information you can use throughout your quit. Under 'cravings Diary' you can also begin to reflect on the progress of your quit and track each day. Many members have reported this tool useful in their quit.

You can also start a new discussion by clicking on the forum of the subject you would like to post about.

Members, what other advice can you suggest to runtrat on getting starting with SSC? What tools did you find helpful during your quit?

If you want to quit.....you start over.......Look at what made you lose the quit this time.......change that so it doesn't get you again.  This is a learning process........learn what the triggers are and change them.......learn what caused you to smoke before ........and change it.  On and on till you hit the Quit that sticks.
We don't care how many times you try.......as long as you keep trying.  you shouldn't care either.......it's said it takes an average of 7 times to make it stick.
Got to want it bad though.......it will not be fun and nice the first few weeks...........you have to be strong.....like everyone else was.  It gets easier though and I promise you won't be sorry you did it!!

hugggggggs
