Oh my gosh, my skin is fantastic too.  Love that part.

You all have noticed that the SSC meters are a little off with our ages.... I'm 45.  Now, the only one who really cares about this is me :)  I still have almost a year of life to live before 46!

Mr. Quitter: :)  That was cool news.
And Bob, I think you didn't recieve the super secret newsletter that we all recieve on our 35th birthday.... we actually do start getting younger.  But keep this on the DL.  We aren't supposed to talk about it.

shhh.

Hi Deb,

Here's a thought.  You spend $7.20 per day on smoking, true?  Your 46 now.  Let's say you retire at 65 which unfortunately is pretty common for most.

65 - 46 = 19 years

19 years x 365 days in a year x $7.20 = $49,932 Savings

How long do you think the bad withdrawls will last?  7 months?

My view is reward yourself now while things seem bad if the rewards will help you get through.  You might spend what you saved in that 7 months, hell you might even spend a little more.  The important thing to remember is that once you get to that ideal spot where you've left your old self behind and can move forward peacefully you can enjoy $7.20 savings per day thereafter with no pain.

Oh BTW that 49k doesn't include interest.  All the best.

I agree with everyone on this one.  If you substitute addictions from cigs it's probably much better for you.  For me  I'm into chocolate and I'm a chemist in the lab mixing my little formulas with raw chocolate with mushrooms and other things . I also was a little crazy on Amazon ordering books but I got through that.  The funny thing is I'm doing my taxes right now and I'm looking at my visa bill and every other line reads $50 Cigarette City, $40 Vikooo Gas (of which it was $10 gas and $30 cigs), all of these crazy expenses to kill myself.  I'm so happy to do my taxes next year and not see any of these crazy charges. I'll subsitute some of these other addicitons any day.
Ron
