Marivi I missed your post!  Love cilantro so much.  Thanks for the recipes!  They look delicious and super healthy.  I smiled when I read about your juice.  I'm still doing the coffee thing and have gotten weird about it.  I used to be fine when I ran out, but am now not.  Holding on to our little stashes.  Making sure we don't run out.

Rock, thank you.  I'm not smoking and I have to remember that that is huge.  Maybe two weeks of being seriously stupid with spending is worth it. And I only buy what I can afford and don't use credit so that is good.  You sound like you have an amazing garden!!!!!  All of my relatives are back in Ohio-- Lake Eerie area.  I bought a double petal Camillia (found a picture for you) which looks a little like a rose.  There are a lot of varieties that all look different.  I'm growing in zone 9, but read that it does very well in zone 7, and sometimes in 6.  Blooms in Winter and early spring and is a bush/tree depending.  Likes morning sun, but shade in the afternoon.  Very beautiful and quite hardy here.  It has more blooms than most roses that I'm growing.
 
Kaiser, that bike is GORGEOUS!  You and your wife are going to have so much fun!  That is a fantastic reward.  And.... I have spent in 2 weeks what I would have spent smoking for 1 year.  Overboard! 
 
Jenn-- congratulations!  You should post your stats for all to admire.  I think the way you are spending your extra found money is excellent!  You are actually a role-model for me.  And I think you are totally right-- I'm trying to find pleasure to distract from what feels like a loss (it is a loss in a wierd way, but a gain in reality).  I'm a mom too.  We have a lot to quit for.  Keep posting, okay?
 
Runtrat:  I think you and Josie have the right idea. I would like to figure out rewards that are more in line with Miss Marple's thoughts (I totally get ya MM).  Those are the kinds of rewards that mean something to me.  Spending money the way I have been really does feel like an addiction.  It's just one that I'm unfamiliar with and want to nip in the bud. 
 
And I am a food network freak!  And Top Chef.  I wouldn't even have cable if it weren't for that show in particular. 
 
Gardening and cooking..... love love love.  Gardening and cooking...... spending too much!  :)
 
Somewhere I have a list of 100 fun free things to do that I'm going to try to find and share with everyone.  It's an awesome list.

I'm adicted to cranberry-pomegranate organic juice! I can drink one gallon a day! And if I consider I don't have enough,I will get anxious like when you look at your cigarrettes and see that you just have the exact amount to get trough the night!!
But I guess is a better addiction!
Maybe we have an addictive personality!
I'm also into gardening, and  right now, my daffodils and tulips are in full bloom; Because my hometown  climate is not suited for those bulbs, I have to buy the bulbs in august and put them in the fridge until january and then I plant them
And about your weight, wow, that is great!!!

We use a lot of cilantro in mexican cuisine, and here is a great healthy snack:
I diced avocado
16 oz lowfat cottage cheese
a bunch of cilantro leaves (chopped)
salt and pepper to taste
1 small green tomato diced
You just mix everything and you serve this with lowfat crackers mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!!!!!!!!!!
 
 
Cilantro salad dressing:
olive oil
cilantro leaves (chopped)
white vinager
salt and peper
1 small egg
1 teaspoon yellow mustard
 
In  a blender put the egg,vinager (1/4 cup) a pinch of salt and pepper and the mustard. Turn on the blender and mix for one minute; then add 1/2 cup olive oil slowly, like when you do a mayo, until the mix has the desired consiteny (lighter than a mayo). It can be less oil, you just stop when it's thick enoug for a dressing!

Rewarding yourself is not a bad thing!  Maybe you can jar your savings and then dip into them.  This way you are only spending the money you were spending on cigarettes!

Deb, I think whatever it takes for you to get on the smoke free path is worth it.  If you pick up a new hobby, or spend money on your garden, whatever you need to do to get through these days!  Would you have spent the money on your garden if you still smoked?  At least you have $108 not spent on cigarettes!  For me, I spend way too much $$$ on my gardens every year.  Last year it was adding 20 rose bushes to the front beds, planting 10 flats of annuals, and about 75 bags of mulch.  Now this year, I want to add ornamental grasses, hibiscus plants, and a few shrubs to the back yard.  Yes, I am addicted to my gardens, but I have always been.  And I think it is a good addiction!  Tell me about your Camellia.  I don't remember seeing those at garden centers here in Ohio.

    I can totally relate to what you posted. I have only not been smoking for a few days, but my "found money" spending is the same. I rationalize it like I'm not smoking , if I was I would have spent it anyway. My reward the other day was to go to Ikea. lol I wonder if it's missing the pleasure that smoking used to give us?

It is uncomfortable to realize how easily one addiction can morph into another.  Eating is going fine-- I cut out bread and dairy and my weight has actually gone down 3 pounds.  I was prepared for the food thing.
 
But, I've been spending money like no one's business.  It's really beautiful here today so I decided to work in the garden.... and then decided I wanted to plant things.  So I started a vegetable garden/herb garden, and bought a Camellia, and some other stuff.  I spent way more than I intended too.  WAY more.
 
I realized as I was driving home from the nursery, that I have developed a problem.  Spending indiscriminately on "rewards".   Really, I need to stop.
 
I don't know about all of you, but I'm curious:  Has anyone else noticed their nicotine addiction morphing into another addiction?
