Still Smoke Free - This works

16 years ago 0 1843 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
This isn't like other websites where they can show before and after pics, so it isn't obvious that somebody is 5 weeks or 5 years smoke free.  The validation is when good folks like you come back and share with us your stats, tell us how you did it, and give us advice to remain smoke free.  I hope to be able to come back in 2013 at my five year mark and post a similar message!  Thank you so very much dschnur for paving the golden road for us newbies to become non smokers!  And congratulations on such a wonderful quit!!!

Congratulations and thanks for such an inspiring story. At my stage now I feel I wont ever go back to that dreadful habit, but like you, I know that just one bravado style puff would set me right back, I could never ever take that risk I know myself too well- and would I want to now?? I doubt it what would be the point?

It's been a long while since I've been here.  I enrolled in this program in late 2002, and quit in 2003.  It's been 5 years and 222 days since I quit.  That means I saved enough money to buy a new car, or better yet, have 2 new little girls in my family and be able to afford what they need.

Stick with it folks, the cravings gradually got less for me over the years. Finally, the point came where they were insignificant.

Oh, one more thing:
I have *never* even tried one puff from a cigarette.
If I do, I'll start right up again.

I'm done.  I've smoked enough.

SSC: Thanks for a program that's done the trick!
