Today in the United States it is Veterans Day. November 11, 1821 (three years after the end of WWI), an unknown soldier was buried at Arlington National Cemetery. That day became known as Armistice Day, and later changed to Veterans Day to honor all soldiers who died in war.
Yesterday I noticed a home-town boy in the obituaries that died in Iraq by an IED. Rather sad, as he was 22 years old. Just giving me a lot to reflect on today....
On a good note---I didn't have to work today! Yippee!
