Pippy,

Remember all of your coping skills during this last shift. Keep your list of costs and benefits of quitting close by, remember all of your reasons and focus on your reward plan if you feel the urge to smoke.

Stay strong!

Hi Pippy,

Right now, as you can see...You are kickin' ash!!

Worry about a cigarette? You are past hell and heck week..The only thing that can stop you now is if you like smelling bad.

I know after my second week I went to a bar where everyone smokes..As soon as I got home I had to get into the shower..The stench overwhelmed me.

You hang tough..The worst is behind you!!

Thanks Patrick, I think this will be the last shift with this lady for awile anyway. Today I am not feeling too confident about it. But why worry about something that is 3 days away! Right???

Hi Pippy!
You will do great!!! Keep your POSITIVE ATTITUDE - it will take you far!!!

Sounds like you are prepared with your snacks. I like mints too.
Daily Llama always suggests lots of ice water!!

You may feel stress with your new client,  if so, remember to breath deeply.
Inhale/exhale slowly.... it sounds silly but it really works!
Plus you always have this trick is handy wherever you are!

Good luck today!!!
Let us all know how it went!

Today is going to be quite a challenge for me. I hardly slept last night worrying about it. I am a health care worker and I have an 8 hour shift today with a lady who is apparently a very heavy smoker. One right after the other. Well I woke up this morning and I think I feel better about it. I have all my coping skills in place and lots of snacks. It's going to be a little tough, but I never smoked in a client's home even when I did smoke. But have never been to this lady and she is a challenge I have been told. Wish me luck.

I will not smoke today!!!!
