Hi K,
I'm in your cheering section too. We can all do the wave if you like!

You will be so proud of yourself if you don't give in!!!!
I've been facing a couple of big giant stresses the last few weeks. Everytime
I thought about smoking I would eat five bags of M&Ms. Haha. Not really but close.
Have to say, every time I didn't cave, it made me feel stronger about the quit. Seemed like
even a cig would not make anything better.
I like to see the quit meter and see that
I won another day.

Have a good one today and remember to keep coming back here!

I am not smoking!  thanks for the cheering section!  I do not feel like I ever want to smoke again. I think I have connected the message that smoking does nothing for me to my actual habit. Deep down somewhere I was still harboring the idea that I wanted to smoke. It is ridiculous when i think about it, I chose to quit, yet part of me still wanted to smoke. I am watching my husband, sister, etc....smoke, and I do not want one, and the second hand smoke is not tempting me as it has in the past. Thanks for asking about me.

Hi Katielynn,
Your story sounds like mine.  My entire family smokes.  But honestly, I'm the only good smelling one out of the entire bunch (snickers lol).  I used to use stress as an excuse too but I finally figured out that cigs dont solve the stressors in my life.  If I was to look ahead in the future, the cig would in fact ADD to my stressors.  I'm so glad you are sticking it out.  The people here are so awesome and have dug me out of craves - but you have got to come here before smoking if the craving gets too bad to handle alone.  Otherwise, how else would you get your quit backup??? Doesn't sound like your family or friends will (like mine).  And hell week for you is almost over.  I can guarantee it does get a little better each week that goes by (and even days that go by).

Life is enough of a roller coaster for me....I am doing pretty good. I am getting cravings, but I think I have finally got it through my head that I want to quit for good. I do not want to be a smoker. I have had a lot of issues to work through, some dealing with being a nonsmoker. I have found that because so many of my family are smokers, it is very hard to attend indoor family functions. I end up being the only one indoors.  LOL..they are all on a smoke break continuously. Also, there has been a lot of stuff with my children. (21, 15)...but I am learning that letting that push me to a frenzy is only an excuse to slip. I did it to myself. I see that now. The thoughts of smoking that used to crowd my head do not hold any weight anymore. And they were a constant battle. I am accepting my new life. Thank you so much for posting to me.  It really really really helps to be able to say these words to someone who possibly understands. All of my people here I would use for support are smokers. They do not want to hear about quitting. So, again, thank you for allowing me to rant. Katielynn

Katielynn, oh boy the roller coaster ride.  I have been on that without the slips, good day, bad day, crying, laughing....etc.  can you believe that people pay to go on  a roller coaster?  You are doing great.  have you checked with a doctor about some medication for mood and anxiety to help you through the beginning?  Some people need it and some don't.  I do, and my husband didn't.  He really ticked me off a lot, it seemed much easier for him.  You can do this, especially with all of us here watching your back...Congrats and keep us posted.
