Everything but nicotine

Hi crik,
How are you doing? Still hiking away,  but not puffing away??? You will probably be amazed at how much easier it is to do your hikes without the smoke permeating your lungs. Hope all is well. Go ahead, eat some chocolate, read some bad books, sleep a few extra hours, but smoking is the one that can kill us, so NOPE! And remember, smoking is a choice.

Hmmmmmm!!! Methinks I'll pop me up into the mountains after work today!!! Wait a minute – there aren't any mountains between this grimy industrial estate where I work and the urban dwelling 6 miles away where I live!! – drat!

crik, that's the kind of depression I like the sound of!!!

I'm a natural born mountain hiker.  I used to puff while climbing and have the dubious reputation of chain smoking on the top of Mt. Olympus.

Congrats on 10 days and doing something for you!  Try low calories snacks and veggies to help you stay positive about eating.  Whatever it takes, do it!

"the depression is lightening a little and I took a hike in the mountains today."

Or I took a hike in the mountains=depression is lightening.

Hiking or any physical exercise I've done has changed my attitude 100% about life in general and or quitting smoking. And when I don't do it I can tell the difference. I know it's become one of my major substitutes for NSing.
Nice to see you bounce back and going strong into the end of your heck week.

Food, sugar, chocolate, sleep, bad tv, bad books, crying, other addictions....... But no nicotine. And since that is the vice that would probably kill me I guess it is a good thing. Its hard not to hate myself when I'm stuffing me full of whatever  BUT, the depression is lightening a little and I took a hike in the mountains today.
