Hi, RD7, and wecome to the SSC! And a very big set of Congratulations to you for starting this Final Quit!

About the stress of not smoking and work - bring lots of healthy snacks with you like baby carrots and a diet-wise dip... make sure you have iced water on hand and be ready to do deep breathing at your desk.
As for mixing with smokers, I'd say that you'ld be well advised to keep your distance from them when you step outside the office... wave nicely as you tell your old buddies that you're just going for a walk for some fresh air...
As for the overtiredness and becoming weak in the face of cravings, you're already well prepared this time and you have the memory of how it felt to be 11 years without smoke; go get yourself a bottle of B Complex tablets and watch that you take in good food into your system for the next months coming...

start a small regime of stretching exercises when you get up in the morning and maybe a few Yoga poses and that may well spark up your energy levels... either way, when you get stressed and tired, come in here and ask for Help! in a new thread and wait for 5-10 replies...
Set up your mileage /quit meter... it's great to watch your progress from day to day

Patrick

Welcome to SSC, rd7!  You sound quite grounded in your thoughts regarding not smoking.  11 years is a long time to be quit, and I'm quite sure you know a thing or two...not to mention just how "sneaky" this addiction can be.   Your fears and excitement together are normal.  You want to succeed, and you will.  Again, in the beginning, I think it comes down to one crave, one hour, one day at a time.  Don't look any further ahead than that.  Post often, and don't forget those coping tools!!!!  You CAN do this.

Cheers,

Jan

Well rd7,

5 hours is a long while to wait to receive your first response to your intial post so I apologise for that!

Welcome to the site! With an 11-year quit under your belt, there is probably much that you can teach us!!

Read and post often is always a good recommendation for newcomers to the site and my personal recommendation would be to stay positive throughout your quit. Bowing to negative thoughts can be one step away from relapse!!

Good Luck

    Cigarettes Not Smoked

Just wanted to say hello and introduce myself.  I've just quit after as much preparation as I could, and am excited and VERY concerned about success.  I actually quit successfully for 11 years before taking "just a puff" twelve years ago.  This is the most important lesson I learned from that.  No more "puffs",
My concerns are dealing with stress at work, being around smoker and becoming overtired and weak.
I'm so glad a group likes this exists and plan to draw on you all for support and wholeheartedly offer mine.
Apart from all that, I enjoy so many things -- outdoors/nature, reading, crafts, cats to name a few.
Great to be here.
