Hello All -- Day One

15 years ago 0 6 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
Thanks BeckyLyn -- A few tough days (hours more like it), but each day is easier overall.  I was overjoyed to realize yesterday that I worked a whole shift without thinking about smoking!
I need to keep my eye on the prize and make sure I don't get lazy in my commitment.

I have been quit for 1 Week, 1 Day, 12 hours, 34 minutes and 23 seconds (8 days). I have saved $75.51 by not smoking 213 cigarettes. I have saved 17 hours and 45 minutes of my life. My Quit Date: 6/19/2008 12:37 AM

Hi, Lori and welcome to the site... congratulations on deciding to quit and the smart decision you made in choosing this site for support! Are you using some kind of NRT? Or, is this a cold turkey quit?  Either way, you stay strong and focused on your quit.   Drink lots of iced water and divert yourself by going for a brisk walk outside or taking a bath or some thing that you normally like to do for relaxation... do lots of deep breathing and some stretching exercises (low impact aerobics - or what we used to call calisthenics?)

River,

Keep remind yourself and set up some further goals!  Once you get there, you can reward yourself for a job well done!  It will take time, but it can be done :)
