Hi, B... I just want to mention that I started taking B Complex and Multi Vitamins when I quit smoking and it feels like its doing me a lot of good ... I only lose my temper when I try to navigate my way around the voice-directory machines at Bell Canada... I hate that the brass there still imagine that the machine is more efficient than human beings...

Beckylynn,

Cigarettes are no longer responsible for boosting the chemicals in your brain that are responsible for feelings of happiness and good mood. That's your job now :)

Here are a few more suggestions to try when feeling down & out:

•     Physical Activity
•     Taking A Nap
•     Getting Some Sun
•     Engaging in a pleasurable activity such as a reward ;)
•     Daydreaming or listening/singing to music

Good Morning Beckylynn

Just a reminder if you would like to read more about depression and quitting use the search feature here.  There is a lot of info regarding in these threads.  Why some go through it and some don't is a bit of a mystery but it seems a lot of folks do.  Just remember that you are not alone and this too shall pass.

Good Wishes

Morning, Becky... remember to reward yourself during this work day. Drink plenty of water and take in some carbs if you're going to focus on nothing else but work for the day....   You're doing great... you're very courageous and steadfast... keep it up...

Well it is a new day and I am feeling OK for now.  Not too bad.  The chocolate helped a little yesterday.
I didn't get out of bed feeling totally depressed so that is a good thing.  We will see how today goes.
I am going to try to just bury myself in work today and try not to think of anything else.
I'll check in later.

Well according to what I have read it has something to do with endorphins.  So I went and got some chocolate and that is supposed to pleasure the endorphins and help with the depression.  So here goes a snickers and crunchcrisp bar.  It's all that was in the vending machine.  We'll see what happens.  I just got to get through this day at work.
