Hi trixyh and welcome to SSC- congratulations too on such a great quit-stories like yours are so inspiring to others especially as you had been a smoker for such a long time.
I hope you find this forum as enjoyable, friendly and supportive as I do. I can honestly say it was my saving grace during hell and heck weeks when I felt like I was on another planet- the support and motivation of the members here was really uplifiting and I made a commitment to check in here every day if possible to support others like I was supported at the start.
So welcome! its good to have you here.

Hi Trixyh and welcome to SSC.
Congratulations on getting your quit going and for sounding so strong and committed.   So, how many days have you been quit now?  Do you want to get your Quit meter set up?  It helps a lot from day to day as you come in here to read and post about your experience...  Again, welcome and you hang tough and keep the focus on your quit...

Hi All.
Let me first introduce myself.
my nick here is trixyh. I live in canada.
In march I decided to quit and was on zyban for 2 weeks, but due to severe allergic reactions I had to stop using it immediately.
2 weeks later, my doctor gave me champix to try.
it is working like a charm, and I have had the odd craving.
most of the time I will go for a walk around the block when the craving hits. drinking water was an option as well, but I felt too bloated after too much water.
It is not an easy thing to quit, and there are days that I am very tempted, but I am hanging in there, because I do NOT want to smoke again, after having done that for more than 44 years.
I feel better now, and have lots more air, and I am not coughing my lungs out for weeks now.
It also gives me a feeling of freedom, because I am more relaxed, don't have to hurry outside to have that dreaded cigaret.
I know that forums and help groups like these are wonderful.
thank you for letting my ramble on.
Enjoy another smoke free day
