Hi Kelly,

You never have to feel alone in this.  When you need someone to talk to, just talk to yourself.  You know what to say.  You have a great weekend.  As for the in-laws, just remember they're scared stiff just thinking about being in your place.  You have to realize that all their junkie talk is just a cover up.  As for only living one life and it being better to be happy than to struggle, I just walk up the seven flights of stairs at work and think about a day when I won't be struggling for air when I get to the top.

'member we're thinkin' bout ya,

Somehow or another, I missed this post, Kelly.  I think you will just be fine on your camping weekend.  Lots of distractions and lots of fresh air and lots of time with you immediate family - except for the smoking in-laws.

As for the void in your life, I think it's because you're used to using ciggies as a crutch for everything - as we all did.  Now that is gone and you have to rely upon yourself.  Well, with the great advice I just read here and your responses, it won't be that long until you know who Kelly really is.

This whole quitting has been hard on you, I know.  But you keep plugging away.  Doesn't that say something about who you are now?

When I think of all I have missed by going out for a ciggie, I could just spit.  Cigarettes controlled me - now I control them.  And so can you.

Have a great trip and have fun.  And should worse come to worse, find someone with a computer and log on SSC.

Hi Kelly!!!

Just hang in there, Sloopy!!!  You'll do just fine!  Don't forget to pack you a big crave basket and try to spend as much time having fun with the kiddos  as you can!!!   That will be a great distraction and hopefully help you to avoid being close to the smoking in-laws!!!  Stay upwind of them by the campfire so that you don't have to smell their stinky smoke, too!!!

Keep telling yourself that you are not going to let ANYTHING ruin this great holiday weekend and it WILL happen!!!  You have the choice!  Make it what you want it and if something comes up that tries to ruin the fun you are having, make it go away!!!  How does that sound???   Sounds fun to me!!!

anxious
you will enjoy the camping trip as a non-smoker. if you get a craving just focus on being outdoors and breath deep that fresh country air.
