Taking advice and making a plan

Oh and if for some bizarre reason you don't hear from me again and I totally succumb to this addiction, I live in Dublin so can someone come and shoot me and put me out of misery!

Paula,
I am definitely glad to see you making a plan.  Definitely talk to your doctor about NRT's.  They can really help.  And you know what...I have struggled just the way you are right now.  I have quit 7 or 8 times in the past 3 years alone.  I can't tell you the number of times I've come here and had to say, "I blew it.  I smoked."
This time, I had a good plan.  And the one thing I've learned is to go easy on myself.  I still have days now and again where my mood isn't the best.  But I allow for that now, and lay low if need be.
Its all about protecting your quit...whatever it takes.

All the best to you,

Jan

Hey guys,

As many of you know, I've been struggling with quitting for about 3 months now, on and off cigs and keeping myself a bit mental! Many of you have given me excellent advice which I've pretty much ignored in the middle of cravings and just went and smoked. I've decided to make a new quit date of the 26th May and I'm going to talk to my GP and get some help because the cold turkey approach just isn't working. I really appreciate everyones support on this site and I know that I wouldn't have even made it a few days without the help I received here so I'll be reading and educating myself, developing a reward plan and coping strategy over the next week or so and hopefully make this quit my last.

Best of luck to you all, thanks so much for all the help and I'll see you agian soon!

Paula
