Thanks everyone for all your words of encouragement and wisdom. I'm feeling good about this quit , I just need to stay strong. I keep seeing this add on TV about learning how to do things all over as an EX Smoker. i sure can relate to that as I've smoked for 43 yrs, really since I was a kid and never really did anything without smoking. We sure make alot of bad choices when we're young. I sure hope I can hang unto this quit cause smokin's just a bad deal all the way around!!!                        Dasie

You can do this!!!  Be ready just in case of a crave.  I would be willing to bet that it is gonna be a lot easier than you think.  You will find that you don't like the smell of the smoke... and sure don't like how they smell when they come back in from smoking.  Stay stong and remember all your reasons for quitting...

Dasie,
Nice to hear from you and great about the recall to the job!!

Stay out of the lunch room and the toilet (at least be quick in-and-out of there!) where the others are smoking, and, sunbathe away from the smokers during the breaks when you go outside for fresh air! Remember, there are no "happy" smokers out there so don't be fooled by their jibes and knavery - they're all just jealous that you quit hard!!

DG,
You have the strength to get through those first few days.  They will be NOTHING compared to those first few days of not smoking.  Think of how proud you're going to feel.
Perhaps you can give them some tips!!!!!  Be prepared and be ready.  Gum, water, candies, veggies, etc...

All the best to you,

Cheers,  Jan

DG, you are a quitter already, when you walk past those folks you will simply smell how much it doesn't smell good at all and you will be glad it is not you.

Arm yourself, remember this is battle.  Be ready.

Well,,,, Haven't you been staying strong all along? You have made it this far and not smoked, to me that says, you have gone 115 days of strong! I think peer pressure is something among teens, I don't know any adults that wouldn't try to support someone that has quit smoking. If anything you may find someone that looks to you for advice on quitting or admires you for what you have accomplished. Not to worry, look at the positive - not the negative.

Hey Daisey!!!

This will be a piece of cake!!!!  You can have a few carrot sticks or a piece of gum when you go on break with them!!  Be sure to stand up wind so you don't have to smell that nasty, stinking, gross cigarette smell!!!

They will ask...  let them know about us, give them an education on NRT's, let them know that it CAN be done!!!  You don't have to push it, but I'll bet that some will be envious enough to get some more info from you!!!

Know one other thing as you remain a non-smoker!!!   You aren't spending that $100 + per month on those cancer sticks so essentially, you're making that much more than them in take-home pay!!!   Now, isn't that an incentive to stay smoke free???

You're doing great!!!!   Keep the quit!!!

      Jim

Hang tough with your quit. I would venture to say that a year from now some of them may have found you an inspiritation to quit themselves. Keep setting a good example.

Dasiegirl,

This isn't a test!!

You are a non-smoker, sitting on the beach!!!

No problem!

You probably will get your co-workers to quit.

You've been confident in your quit, just show them how it's done.
