Welcome back I am so Happy to see you here. One day at a time. sometimes one hour at a time. you can find a free download ( e book) "Allen Carr's Easy Way To Quit Smoking" It helped me a lot.. of course like anything... take what you need .... and eave the rest. A couple things that helped me..... After the nicotine was out of my body... I did not want to put it back in... and I really did NOT want to go through the feeings of the first 2 weeks... where I fet like I was in a fog and couldn't think straight. I had to keep telling myself N O P E .. NOT one puff ever ... I am like any other addict and One puff is going to lead me right back to a pack a day. I pictured myself in all types of situations without smokes. I had a realazation: I am NOT as anxious without cigarettes.. I am not thinking about if I have enough for the day... where am I going to smoke, do I smell like smoke.... etc... Glad you are back ..... Yes that stress will get you every time, but you don't have to smoke when stressed. Exercise, read, call someone, eat a healthy snack, drink boatloads of water. Welcome back. I choose life, If stress leads you back to it time & time again, it's time to start finding new coping strategies for stress. Please look through the exercises in your glove compartment. Some of them focus particularly on this issue. Danielle, Bilingual Health Educator

I'm kinda thinking that I know that I can go for three week without a cig cos I did it before, not one puff! So if I challenge myself to stay off them for the month of May and see how I feel after that. Could be a silly approach but I'm desperate at this point! Been there done that more than I can count. I guess I got so sick and tired of doing it over and over and over and over I finally listen to my doctor and took Chantix. The meds helped me get over that 5 day, 10 day or whatever hump it was. I still had to put the work into my quit, but the med made it easier. Just don't give up trying, it will happen. Hey guys, I'm back again. I'm really struggling. I can go for a few days without smoking but then I get stressed and have one or 10, then go for another few days and repeat and repeat and repeat. The urgency isn't in my head any more. I'm not smoking 25 a day every day anymore - yet! I don't know how to stay off them, I've gotten myself into a bad pattern of smoking every now and then. I was hoping that if I just put my meter back to 0 and start with a fresh month it might boost me. I don't know. Anyways, its good to be back!
