Hi Groovy-gal!!! Like I try to tell my wife all the time... RELAX!!!! There IS time to get the things done that need to be done!!! Stressing out does not make anything better!!! If I were you, I'd see if your daughter or another close friend can go shopping with you to pick out a dress for the upcoming events!!! A second set of eyes should help you in picking out something great!!! So take a deep breath and relax!!! Everything will be OK!!! By the way..... A BIG congrats on 80 days!!! Remember, maintaining your quit IS the most important thing right now!!! I understand your pain. I have gained some weight as well. We always have a choice whether or not to stress. Although I do stress over things I do know that the only thing that I have any control over is what's right in front of me. Tomorrow is not here yet. I'll bet you can find the perfect dress and Sylvie is right, I'm sure your daughter is so proud of you for quitting smoking and she still loves you no matter what shape or size you are. What makes us us is not shape or size or what we have or don't have it's what inside that counts. And congrats on 80 smoke free days. YOu should be very proud. I know I gained not smoking out of this but now I'm in a spot. I've gained 17 lbs and my daughters wedding is the 7th of May and I will be meeting her fiance and his mother for the first time (long story) and I have no clothes and cant find anything I like to wear to the wedding. When I quit I kinda stopped watching what I ate so I did this to myself. Ugh, I feel awful and cant seem to get my eating under control because of the stress of the wedding. I'm also having surgery on the 12th and moving in June so my anxiety level is a bit high. How do I get a grip on this. I'm back on my thyroid meds so thats not the problem. Help!
