Hi. I've made it through 2 days without smoking. I'm using the lozenge too, and I find it really, really helps. Together, we can beat this.

Welcome! Now get out there and kick some butt. Don't over analyze, don't think about what you've given up. You've given up death and sickness, addiction and slavery. Don't look back just look ahead to every one you don't smoke! Hey the price of a pack is a gallon of gas you'll get every pack you don't smoke! thanx :) yeah i really think the wellbutrin will help me with the quitting as well as this site!!! I really thought that my first day was going to be tough... it wasnt as bad as i thought it would be, well of course i was at work and i cant smoke there, so it makes it that much easier. but now i am home, and it is harder, i started crying just by reading some posts in the site, i thought i was fine. human nature can be so weird sometimes. Fine one moment, crying the next, and then being fine again, so on and so forth!@!!~!! Welcome Ubelfrau!!!! Glad you jumped aboard to join us. Sounds like you're ready for this. You've done your homework, and you've got some coping techniques as well. Good for you. I am currently using the patch, but I also take welbutrin. I have to say the combination is working well for me. I think the Thrive gum and the welbutrin will get you to where you want to be. In the past I've found that depression can accompany a quit, and with the welbutrin, it REALLY takes that edge off. So welcome, and post often, it really helps. Best of luck to you, Cheers, Jan My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/27/2008 Smoke-Free Days: 72 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,800 Amount Saved: $612.00 Life Gained: Days: 8 Hrs: 6 Mins: 27 Seconds: 47

Hello people!! I decided to quit smoking pretty much yesterday and today was my first day. well yesterday i decided the definite date. i have been thinking about quitting for a while, but i was afraid for many reasons, as i am sure a lot of you guys were scared as well about not being able to achieve your goal. Yesterday i had a few smokes left and i said to myself, That's it, i am not buying more smokes. the first time that i have quit, i quit for 2 full weeks and i tried with the patch, but it made me sick. If i am not able to fully quit, if i go beyond 2 weeks, i will be real happy with that as well. I think i have a better chance now, because i have done more research on quitting and i have more tips. There are 2 things that i am using to help me with the quitting. i am taking the thrive lozenge and so far it as been really good, when i had big cravings at work today and felt irritated and nervous. i took one and it really really helped. the other thing that i am taking is wellbutrin, an anti-depressant, i was giving that a month ago, buproprion is good for depression, but also to be able to quit smoking. so hopefully with this site, the people on this site, my friends, family i will be able to fully quit forever... well i think that is all i have to say for now :) TextText
