Isn't it just crazy the things we will let an addiction talk us into? you already had a year so you are well aware of the little voices in your head saying'just one wont hurt' Don't listen. Not one puff ever. Smoking is not an option. Walk, cry, scream or dance but don't smoke. Hi and Welcome! Congratulations on deciding to quit! You've come to the right place, believe me. Don't feel bad about this being your second time, because you can learn off what triggered you to smoke the first time. This is my third and final attempt to quit, and I have never made it this far into my quit before. I truly believe the people on this website are one of the main reasons for my success. Post often! Everyone here really cares about eachother! Best of wishes to you! Welcome Pink Star, and congratulations on quitting. Do what Denise said (Npsych2), and Sue and Danielle... and don't worry about stuff like your English. Just focus right now on this programme and these members who are ready to help you and stay close to this web site as much as you can while you're going through the first few weeks and months of your quit... in 4 days the nicotine will have left your body but the addiction will be grabbing at you for attention and whining/crying at you to give your poor brain some nicotine - Stay STRONG and do everything you can to push those thoughts away with ice cold water or a hot bath with bubbles or a nice sugar-free candy to suck on or a drinking straw that you can drag air through or chew on... Come in here immediately and ask for HELP ( "New Discussion" tab at the top of the page) when you feel threatened by the need to smoke and do NOT smoke until you have heard from a few members - Patrick My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/18/2008 Smoke-Free Days: 73 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,825 Amount Saved: $821.25 Life Gained: Days: 13 Hrs: 15 Mins: 2 Seconds: 42

Pink, Welcome aboard! Please be sure to work through the tools located in your glove compartment. They will teach you a lot about triggers, cravings and withdrawal symptoms. We hope to hear from you again soon! Danielle, Bilingual Health Educator

Hi Pink, welcome to the best quit site you will ever find. If you already had a year, you know the drill, but with this site there is always someone here to help you if you get down the line and feel like caving. They say here to post and wait for 10 replies first! I think you do know what happened after a year, but you just don't know how to admit to yourself that you allowed the thoughts to come in and didn't reject them immediately, and then one day you just did. Yes? Been there, done that, and don't ever want to do it again. So get some ice water, grab a snack, or gum, or a toothpick, or a stir stick, so that you have that hand to mouth action, and set yourself up with a contingency plan, so you NEVER have to do this again, OK?
